Better start showing some respect, young whippersnapper!

I predict Johnny Davis and Rui Hachimura get dealt to the Pacers for Jalen Smith and Chris Duarte.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Why for Indy?
I.e. why would they give Duarte for Rui straight up?

& even if they could be convinced to do that, the rest of the trade is them giving jalen Smith for Johnny Davis, which I definitely can't see!

Sadly, I'm a bit older than that; but at least I'm not as old as you!

Duarte for Rui I could see because i) IND needs a PF and has a glut of guards and ii) Duarte has played very badly this year, much worse than Rui…look at his numbers.

Now, the bust of Johnny Davis is another conversation all together…I strongly doubt anyone would have any interest…

Duarte also resets rookie contract clock. Another Tommy distressed asset hunt.

I have no idea why he’s struggled this year.

Nah, you'll never catch me -- but I hope you are lucky enough to stay as healthy as I have up to my age, & way longer too, as I hope to! :)

"Fortunately for them, they haven't hit on any of their young players. They don't have a Josh Giddey they'll have to pay in a couple of years."

That is the dumbest remark I've ever heard anyone make -- maybe on any subject at all!

Plus, his statement that Kuzma has "outplayed his contract, yes he has." Man O man is that ever billshut!

OTOH, if it's a widely shared view, that means we should be able to trade him & get some good return! Of course, we'd have to be smarter than we are -- but, we're not. If it was possible we'd be even dumber than we are!

But no worries... we're plenty dumb enough to overpay Kuz -- just have to hope there's someone out there even dumber than we are. Hard to believe... but there could be!

Honestly I can't imagine anyone actually watches this team outside of the local fanbase, I take everything "analysts" say with a huge grain of salt

At least Rui is not going to be blindsided by a trade, lol. He's checked out. Trade him to the Lakers for Troy Brown and Thomas Bryant and start the cycle all over again. Time is a flat circle and such is the absurdity of So Wiz.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Lakers are unable to complete this trade. Since they are a taxpaying team, they are only able to take back 125% of the salary they are sending out, plus $100,000.

Lakers can only take back $4.6M in salary based on the amount they are sending out.

Cut $1.5M from the Lakers incoming trade value to make this trade successful for the Lakers.

No interest in giving up an asset of any kind for Duarte. A 2021 draft pick, he is nonetheless already 25 years old -- older than Rui.

You are aware that Bryant is having an excellent season for the Lakers, right?

There is no way the Lakers would (or should!) trade Bryant for Rui.
Bryant is by far the better player.

Why don't you compare his numbers to Karl-Anthony Towns? Or, say, let me see... how about Kristaps Porzingis?

Defense matters, PIF.

Thomas Bryant is incapable of defending the C position. He makes opposing bigs look like prime Shaq. He's only in the lineup because the Lakers decided to come into the season with Damian Jones & Jay Huff as his competition for minutes.

Bryant was signed for the vet minimum after the Wizards didn't bother to make an offer. He has no value around the league. You have constantly valued his stat sheet contributions when no one in the league has.

So Rui + Barton packaging is really the extent to which trades happen

Maybe Rui's trade value is actually higher than Kuzma to some teams because he's more cost controlled.
