The word "solid" typically means "average" or "reliable". Doesn't really excel at anything.

CMB is already probably exceeding your description.

Wow, saying CMB does not have the size and athleticism while Barnes has more is like a troll to me. CMB does not have the vertical, and Barnes does not have the quickness, which is pretty even to me. And their size is a big diference between 6'7 and 6'8, neither are 6'9 PF size?

Don't just look at height. Wingspan and hand size are always the key and Barnes AND Siakam outclass him there. mixed with CMB's lack of vertical are not great.

Again, Barnes lacked the quickness. You can call CMB lack of size, but that should also apply to Barnes based on that requirement. Neither of them in the Giannis conversation on size and wingspan, neither of them in the Siakam conversation on skill.

After all, the size isnt the biggest factor, because they are undersize for C regardless, and lacked elite skill, so their swing factor is 3 point shooting.

You're a fan of the team. You want him to be really good. Watching the Raptors will be better if he's really good. That's more important than you being right in your initial assessment. It's okay to be off sometimes, especially with unique rookie prospects.

Bet on him being really good. It'll be funner that way.

I think he’s talented enough to be more though, his size/position and shooting are the components that he has to overcome. Both he’s been doing for the most part already so I think we can be optimistic for now.

I dont disagree. If they are not able to shoot in average and add some kind of creation skill, I do not believe they can be paired, because that will just put so much missing elements to other positions. I dont think they will worth the near-max, unless you have half of Kawhi Leonard offense.

Very comparable stats to Julius Randle during Randles first full season at 21 years old. Much better FG precentages than Randle though.

Wayyyy better defense.

If Randle.was as capable a defender as CMB, he would be viewed much differently as an asset around the league.

Randle.was a 3x allstar, but I think CMB ends up being the more valuable player.

Might also have to do with playing with the starting lineup (better players), outside of him improving. Of course, cant say the same for Dick and Walter and Agbaji having the same opportunity for starting some games.
