if Phil actually has/had interest in J-Smoove I cant imagine it now.
Prior to signing D-Will wouldve made more sense.

I actually think the Knicks are going to use him as a backup SF. Just my opinion here.

Well, Phil does seem to like reclamation projects (Rodman, Artest, etc.)...maybe he envisions him as a Lamar Odom type backup.

Is Bynum still a possibility?

who are we gonna use the 2.8 room exception on? I like Seraphin and we need a backup C. Also id like to try to get Papanikolaou back. I think he'd be a great fit for the triangle and he could be waived

Gotta have some patience with that 2.8. Even Grunwald when he was here had enough sense to hold on and wait for a decent piece to get with it. Phil is doing good to be patient.

Pappy has a little bit of intrigue to me -- feels like a character/plays hard fit for our team and I think this guy can also dribble/pass some unlike Early.

Early is very disappointing to me -- zero hoop IQ, can barely get out of his own way in terms of basic dribbling/passing and outside of cutting back-door on the baseline he has no clue what to do with the ball. Watching him trying to decide if he should or could make an entry pass to the post is like watching paint dry.

So appears that was some talk that the Knicks actually were in talks with Josh Smith about signing with them for this upcoming season. Appears that it was between the Clips, NY and Houston.

The #Knicks have expressed interest in Carlos Boozer and Willie Green. #Clippers have interest in Josh Smith and Big Baby.

I'd take Carlos Boozer. He can score. Defense became an afterthought when they foolishly let Aldrich go.

I think at this point if they want some sort of depth at C, Ryan Hollins is probably the best choice. Hollins can be had for a one year vet minimum (what he's been operating on for most of his career). He protects the rim and he is an adept finisher off the pick and roll. He plays physical enough and is a long and athletic 7 footer that should fit in well if Fisher plans up playing more uptempo. There's no pretenses about what he is or what he should expect so role and expectations should not be an issue or a distraction (i.e. very little maintenance). He's an athletic 7 foot shotblocking thug that knows and plays his role.

Would be a bit safer than someone like McGee and Seraphin.

Again still no news from Andrew Bynum or his handlers. No indication if Andrew is even still on planet earth.

Also very little chatter coming out of Emeka Okafor's camp on any potential discussions with team or return.

Yes, because why they really signed Robin Lopez was his untapped offensive arsenal.

Can we all chip in and get Irrasho an editor?

If Boozer were in supreme (I still want to play shape) I would be interested in him.

He does 2 things that we don't do well -- he can score in the post and he will rebound.

Would depend on how in shape he is but I think our pace of play might work with him.

We really don't have much offensive talent on this roster -- even an old Boozer can score better than 75% of this roster. Picture what Boozer would do to guys in Summer League play.

Boozer is a great score and rebounder to have off the bench.

Good post game and rebounder

I would rather just keep the room exception so that if a better player gets waived at some time during the season the Knicks would be able to bid a bit more for that player than teams who just have the minimum left.

Boozer at the room exception is definitely intriguing.
He would add the the bench depth.

Boozer probably sees himself as a starter and is looking to get significant minutes.

If they sign a PF like Boozer, my assumption is that they are comfortable with Porzingis as the third string center when needed, behind Lopez and O'Quinn. Also, that Williams will be playing a lot more of the 3 than we initially expected. And that Porzingis may likely backup Boozer at the 4.

I just don't see Boozer willing to accept an 17-22 minute bench role and that is where I would want him.
