God, hip-hop is WEAK right now. I am actually getting to the point where I dread logging on to hotnewhiphop, because seeing what is considered "Hot" today just makes me sick to my stomach. I'm only 17, but as a young guy, I do not find any of the music released today as good. I do not understand why these labels think that us young kids like this stuff.

For the past week or so, I have been listening to nothing but the old Eminem, Nas, 2Pac etc. I really don't want to veer away from Hip-Hop, but i need some new fresh music to listen to....

The labels push this stuff because people don't ask for more.

Age has nothing to do with it. Yelawolf doesn't bring anything special to the table. To say his album will change the game is crazy.

Yelawolf is probably the best rap performer out right now. His concerts are the best. And yes, his flow isn't special. Right. Neither is his ability to make ear pleasing hooks, picks out great melodies on his beats, and his versatility complements the different ways he structures songs. He's so different than anyone else and ahead of the curve, and he's not fake or phony either. Your loss. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only who feels this way about him. Eminem must have seen the same thing.

Wiz wasn't that special before. It's always been his production that drew people to him.

I respect your opinion, but I just don't see the hype with him that's all.

I feel the guy who can change this game is Tyler The Creator. He is the realest rapper out there.

I think Tyler is too caught up in his "ironic" hipster style to do anything too monumental. I think he's aight though.

Tyler stands for what I love in Hip Hop, not afraid to say what he wants.

I think the major reason I love his music is because he reminds me so much of the old Eminem and Eminem is my favorite rapper of all time.

I don't think too highly of Yelawolf...he's okay and has some creative angles...but I don't see him changing the game. He's solid though, Em will mold him into a successful artist for sure.

Tyler is a better producer than writer. I agree that he's too caught in the ironic hipster thing. His voice though is definitely unique though and if he improves lyrically...he could be something completely different.

What I like about both of them is that they're not changing up their sound too much despite getting more popular. I prefer the Wale/J. Cole style of rapper though, even if that's more generic lyrical cat style.

Yeah I get what you're saying. I actually really like Wale as a rapper. "Focused" has been on replay for me as of late.

I am not J. Cole's biggest fan, but he is a good artist. Can't take away from him.

But I disagree with you on Tyler. He writes good music... music a lot of people can relate to. I am not saying people relate to the extreme stuff he says, but the general idea of it is what a lot of people go through.

I mean they don't have massively original concepts for the most part...While they have some standout joints (love how J. Cole handled Lost Ones), they are mostly more on the poetic lyrical tips. TBH I think both are more suited for the mixtape scene but with Ross helping out, Wale has an opportunity to be really big.

Yeah if Tyler is the realest I'm choking myself. Can't hate the movement that they had going, but dude is like fourth best out of his own camp. Odd Future are very smart, but the music they put out is sort of overrated. Goblin was sort of doodoo.
