Peterson went 18 in my draft last night. Anyways, I ended up with an ok team I think. I like my starting RB's but my receiving corps leaves a lot to be desired and my bench is pretty weak.

QB- Shaub
RB- Forte
RB- Richardson
WR- Colston
WR- D. Moore
Flex- Mathews
TE- Gates
D- Ravens
K- Nugent

B- Titus Young, Boldin, P. Thomas, Bradford, R. Williams, Giants, Olsen

You'd think a running back enthusiast like yourself would be up on all of the trendy running back nicknames. :D

Also, should get rid of bonus points if you can. Don't know how others feel about them, but to me they are really arbitrary and not needed.

There's a chance I may not be able to make it, so I'm going to pre-rank tonight just in case. Just FYI for all of you guys so that you know I'm not totally blowing it off.

Yahoo added an option to randomize the draft order that shows up in the league updates, so no way to be a shady commish (unless you randomize multiple times). A couple leagues I'm in did it already.

I won't be there for the RealGM draft, but will pre-rank as I usually do.

After seeing Ced Ben's performance last night. Where do you guys think he should go in fantasy drafts?

I still wouldn't take him very high. Consider:

1. The Packers will always be a team who is going to pass the ball a lot.
2. He was still splitting with Green for the most part and Kuhn was the third down guy. I assume that will continue.
3. If he fumbles a couple of times (which he has been known to do) McCarthy will bench him or significantly reduce his touches.

Footballguys has him projected for 180 rushes, 738 yards, 5 tds as of yesterday morning. That would make him somewhere around the 37th best RB which would warrant a late 10th/11th round pick. I think he is a slightly stronger play than Starks was last year, which wasn't very good.

For comparison, the 35th, 36th, and 38th backs are Kevin Smith, Ryan Williams, and Evan Royster, all of whom I would rather have then benson barring the declaration that we have become a one back team (given Green doesn't seem to have any better vision than Starks, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if be week 4 mccarthy finally says **** it and only relies on benson putting him in a consistent 14-17 carries per game role).

Yeah, I have a feeling that Benson is going to quickly become as close to a featured back as we've seen in GB in a while. Just a gut feeling. Starks stock with the coaches seems to be at an all time low, Green is essentially an unproven rookie coming off of an injury, and Kuhn will hopefully lose most if not all of his carries (that might be wishful thinking). So from a fantasy perspective I'm somewhat bullish on him. I guess I'll have to factor in the fact that one of my drafts is Sunday and it's made up of predominantly Packer fans so Benson's stock will probably be over inflated quite a bit.

Fwiw, footballguys just updated their rankings and bumped benson up to the 34th overall running back (still a 10th rounder in most drafts). Not to start another "(un)importance of rb's" thread on this board, but I agree backs don't matter so long as the backs have the requisite skill to be successful. Of starks, saine, and quite possibly green, I have my doubts that any well ever have good enough vision to be considered a quality starter on any team, and I think it is just ridiculous what an impact it is to have a back in benson with likely lesser skills than the other guys but with the ability to read holes and hit them and how that makes our running game look so much better. Viva the (hopeful) end of the starks era and his running into walls. May CedBed keep his fumbles under control.

2 of my 3 fantasy football leagues are 16 team leagues. So a 34th ranked RB is definitely in the mix as a #2 starting RB.

Benson is a 1000 yard rusher. He may not quite reach that this year but he will be a factor almost every game. He will be used to keep the other defense on the field and to close out games. It is foolish to think he will continue to spit time with alex green. They just aren't close. Id play him as a RB2 if i had good depth elsewhere. I don't see him benched for fumbling unless its really bad. He fumbled like 7 times last year so its not out of the question.

I had him last year for a majority of the year in a 12 team PPR league. Someone else in my league hated him and traded me him and Scott for nothing (Devry Henderson 2 for 1 I think). I had Arian Foster as my #1 and did matchup rotation of Benson and Tolbert as my #2. I think he will be a lot less viable in our system than Cincinnati's and he has even lower value in PPR formats. So if you don't have a strong RB#1 to carry him and point advantages at a couple of other possition on a weekly basis he wont help. That being said RB #2 in a deep league can be tough if you go Top WR or QB early on and you might not have any better options on draft day. Just don't over pay for him since his value is very high right now and pray you can get a FA / Waiver Wire pickup cuz Cedric isn't going to get it done for you.

yep, benson should be considered a questionable flex guy and a very solid 4th rb.
