Thank yu the only quote on here that make sense. The Bobcats have nothing on their roster that we want or need and the Kings can give us Cousins and Evans and maybe the Bulls will listen

You know what makes sense for the Bulls, what I'd do?

RIP and our 2013 or 2014 first rounder for MKG and the Bobcats pick back to them.

I only do the trade if the Bulls get Charlotte's 2013 pick and don't have to take on Thompson. 2013 pick or 2016 pick, it doesn't matter to me. There is no guarantee that the year Charlotte's pick is unprotected, isn't the year they finally get their act together. With how bad the east has been this decade, it wouldn't surprise me if they can squeak out a 37-45 season in the next few years. However this year, they are pretty much guaranteed to have a top 5 pick, unless they seriously change course.

As far as Thompson, he makes too much money to be a 4th big man, especially with the new reality of the NBA finances. I don't see him as a guy who puts over the top or as an appropriate replacement for Boozer. So I'd pass on him.

If the Bulls could land Fredette and Biyombo and Charlotte's 2013 pick, I think its worth it. This potential roster is pretty good, and its not too expensive:

Rose / Freddette
Kirk / Top 5 pick
Deng / Butler
Boozer / Taj
Noah / Biyombo

Hate to burst people's bubbles, but this is the type of roster a team should be trying to create with the new NBA economic reality. 4 high priced players (Rose, Deng, Boozer, Noah), 1 well paid 6th man (taj), 4 guys on rookie contracts (Butler, Biyombo, Fredette and Top 5 pick) and a mid level vet - Kirk.

The Bulls would also have the trade exception and the ability to trade down to acquire the guy they want, and maybe a pick and a vet. I'd do it if we can acquire those exact assets, but would pass if they offered the Portland pick or Thompson. the Bulls have the power here, Charlotte's the desperate team.

You must really like MKG. I don't think this makes sense for us with Deng still on the roster.

I don't like him for us. We need a shooter with playmaking ability. Mkg for all his talent brings little of either. Nor volume scoring.

Definitely fits bulls culture though.

Bobcats aren't trading MKG for anything short of someone like Cousins.

To me, this is easy. If it's Charlotte's 2013, you obviously do it, regardless of how weak you think this draft is. That 2016 pick could be top 5, it could be a late teens pick. It's not that hard to make the playoffs in a couple years.

If it's Portlands pick (which it probably is), then it isn't worth it. Power forward is our best position, so you don't need to add to that.

if it's the 2013 Bobcats pick, yes you do it! We can draft our SG hopefully.

Basically boils down to this.

If it's this year's Cats pick, then it's almost certain you'd get one of Shabazz, McLemore, or Goodwin and we possibly get Rose's long term backcourt partner.

Look how dreadful the Charlotte roster is right now. They don't have any franchise type players on that roster and aren't a free agent destination. Even if they get a Parker or Wiggins and they become a franchise player the team will still be young and at best a fringe playoff team in east. I don't know why people make it seem like some kind of turnaround is coming for them. We've seen teams in the NBA be perennial lottery attenders for a long time the Bobcats don't seem any different. Even if by chance the Bobcats get good you can still move the pick for a player the level of Thompson the pick this year doesn't intrigue me because too many people who analyze the draft say this one just isn't that good.

I'm not saying that the Bobcats will be good or that they should do the trade. I'm just going by the report. If we have a chance to get Thompson and a pick that might land us McLemore then I would do and I think the Bulls should do it. It makes us better now and next year.

I feel the same way.

I'd also do the trade if it gives us Charlotte's unprotected pick for this year. If we somehow got Shabazz, I'd cream in my pants. He's started to heat up big time.

Like everyone else if the Charlotte's first rounder is unprotected for this year, then I do it if not thanks but no thanks but hey nice try.

Nooooo! What does it tell you that they want it back so bad? It would be a huge eff up if we do this deal w/o the 1st rounder being Charlotte's 2013 pick

Doesn't make any sense. Why would the Bobcats give up what will be a lottery pick this year just to make sure the Bulls can't take their unknown pick down the road?

If MJ decides to sell the team, the pick we own may hold more value to the new owners than the one later this year. I like the deal if it is Charlotte's pick coming back and not Portland's. For a deal to land Love or another superstar, having assets such as a top 5 pick next year or a Jason Thompson on a cheap deal or a Biyombo/Fredette combo on their rookie deals definitely has more value than an unknown future Charlotte pick or a Rip Hamilton on an expirer. Would be a nice deal for the Bulls do to make a move like this for this year's team and future years. Count me in...

Im not sure who these Rumor Press jokers are, and I hate to burst the bubble of this epic thread, but there is no way the Bobcats do this deal as structured.

No scenario thus far has the Bobcats taking back any player of value. No, they dont want Rip. He is worse than Henderson at this point in his career anyways. Biyombo isnt the best, but he has value. maybe id trade him for Thompson sstraight up, maybe- probably not due to JTs 5 year contract.

So you are expecting Charlote to trade a likely top 5 pick this year for at best a potential top 10 pick 3 years from now? And oh yah, they will trade away ok players for worse players?

Trust me, I get the whole deal about how the protections on the pick work, so the 15th person to explain this is not needed. I know Charlotte cant trade this years pick now, because theoretically they could owe it to the Bulls (which we wont); but if Charlotte trades the pick to the Bulls, then they still cannot use that pick in a trade because they obviously no longer have it anymore. So where is the value?

Someone just shut this thread down or start talking reasonably.

I'd do the swap for the 2013 Charlotte 1st round pick. Even if it's lower than what it might be eventually, I'd rather have a high pick now rather than later.

It's been brought to my attention that our 2016 and any pick the Bobcats have from now to 2016 are the same pick, so basically our options are the Bobcats unprotect the pick or give us their Portland or Pistons pick, (which I don't want)
