Ridnour + Williams....I'm down for that.

I could also see it happening when DeMar + Amir are friends with Williams.

Sheridan is reporting that the Spurs are now the front runners to land Al Jefferson...
Friggin Spurs what could they offer? BC needs to act fast and get in on this or try to expand
it to a potential 3 team deal. Only problem is Utah is looking for a PG like us.

Regarding the Bucks, I could see BC target Illysova. He loves those versatile jumpshooting big guys. I also remember him targeting him last free agency. If they value Sanders, they may be willing to part with Illy for sare parts.

@Dalek

I was thinking the same thing. I just saw on Wiretap that the Bucks are shopping Dalembert, so a trade involving ilyasova + dalembert would be great for us.

Man if the Bucks were dumb enough to take Bargs off our hands...

To Bucks
Ross+Bargs+2nd

To Toronto
Ersan+Udrih

Lowry/Udrih/Lucas
Derozan/Anderson (ugh)
Gay/Fields
Ilyasova/Acy
Amir/Val/Gray

That would be a very balanced team (Ersan is a stretch forward that can actually hit the three) but wouldn't take us to the next level

What? **** no that's terrible. Please stop. I'd rather have Ross & Bargnani.

Thank god your not an actual GM

Jesus calm down.

Its just the way I see it we need to get rid of Bargs salary without getting a terrible contract in return. Ersan is at least a much better player and we shed some salary

Id rather keep Ross too or at least get a really good player in return Im just spitballing. Fact is unless were attaching Jonas to a deal I don't see how were going to land another really good player

Buddy you have to think things through.

1. If we wanted "rid" of Bargnani we would amnesty him, give up no assets like Ross
2. BC said he would only make a deal if it impacted us positively. He won't make a deal for the sake of making one (your offer)
3. Ross was untouchable in the Rudy Gay trade but he'd be included in a Ersan deal? Please.
4. Ersans contract is 2 years longer at 7.9 and 8.4. So factoring in that we shed no money
5. Not like management is interested in slashing salary anyway. Pretty sure I heard BC say ownership will go into tax for the right deal. Slashing salary does nothing. We will still be over the cap.

I'm so sick of these clueless posts.

Spurs would have to start with Jax's $10M otherwise they can't even get close salary wise. If the Jazz are going to move Al's expiring I think it means they want a young guy from the Spurs. With PG being their biggest need/desire that leaves Cory Joseph or de Colo. They'd have to think one can be a starter. A Utah-SAS deal around Jefferson doesn't make any sense to me. SAS just doesn't have the kind of player Utah is looking for.

I'm not clueless, I'm just trying to be a realist based on what I've seen from MLSE's past

I'm quite concerned that they wouldn't amnesty Bargs when push comes to shove, but who knows?

MLSE according to BC will go into tax for the right deal, were willing to take on Rudy Gays contract and are fine with being near tax next year.

There's about a 0% chance Bargnani is amnestied too. Why would you anyway? If it provided cap space to sign a guy sure makes sense but we will be over the cap anyway after him being amnestied so it doesn't make sense.

BC also won't do that.

I know you aren't clueless but I felt your post was as it was completely against everything being said about the future/direction of the team.

I just don't see how were going to improve without giving up Val or Ross.

Without getting rid of Linas and Bargs we have no room to sign anyone, and we can't trade either of them for a good player without attaching our assets to them.

A backup point we can land no problem, but how do we take that next step?

With this conversation about us looking for a PG... that one poster posted that we were discussing a Lowry/Bargnani for Jennings/Gooden swap with Milwuakee... it sounds like that could be a possibility. I know Jennings isn't a "pure" PG, but he is a better passer than Lowry. This might be what the "source" is talking about. Never know..

Well I'm not saying dont trade Ross. I'm saying only for a actual upgrade to make us take the next step. Is that move out there? I don't know. Right now in content with doing these things

1 - amnesty Kleiza (4.6 million)
2 - decline Lucas' player option (1.5 million)
3 - waive Haddadi (200,00 guaranteed)

This would put us at 67 million. I'd sign a PG for 3-4 million. Tax will go up I think significantly and roll into next year with

Lowry / PG
Derozan / Ross
Gay / Fields
Bargnani / Amir / Acy
Val / Gray

Then if the right deal comes along make it but don't panic and make a bad move.

67m (into the luxury) with that roster? They will be lucky to have a .500 record. The amount that Colangelo has to improve this team by now until this summer coming up is enormous.

Tax right now is 70.3. Its projected to go up, some projected 20% but i dont think nearly that high, think more like 73-75 million. So we wont be a tax team unless we do a significant deal (Gasol, Smith, etc).

I think that team is 5th/6th in the East. I think its better than Indiana, better than Brooklyn which would put them right around 5th/6th. I do think he will make a significant move but it will be in the summer

I agree with that. More teams could be looking to get under the lux tax during that time (Why Memphis is doing it now is a total mystery), and that's when BC can swoop in and make a deal. Also if we manage to keep our pick, BC will have the chance to include that for a better Bargs return.

yep also you sell high, never low. Why sell low on Bargnani now? Let him playout the season raise his value. If someone blows your socks off now with a offer than do it but otherwise sit tight. We would have pieces Bargnani, Ross, future pick to throw at someone to get a huge upgrade. Maybe Kevin Love demands out? Sit tight and wait so many things can happen.
