lol.
Show me Yashins World cup, eurocup and Champions league titles.
Casillas aged awfully but in his prime he was basically god and i hate Real but it is what it is.
ID also put Buffon over Yashin too.
Others in the conversation should be Banks, Zoff, Schmeichel, Maier.

Show me the decades Yashin spent playing for Real & Spain, and I'll show you a trophy cabinet.

don't make me laugh. Europe never had anything close to South America in terms of going forward...
You say defenders, but David Luiz, Dante, Silva, Mirand and Marquinhos all were rated top in the world.
Irony of team europe being superior defenders, however, ATL MAdrid has probably been the best defensive team for the past few years...... Let's see who plays in the backfour for them during that span.
Godin, Miranda, Gimenez, Luis. 3 out of 4 of them were usually south Americans...
I'm guessing you are fairly young. Historically Europe have been leagues higher than SA defensively.
Historically, Europe has played the game conservatively...
Reason why maldini has always hailed Silva as the number 1 CB in the world

i dont remember anything conservative about ajax ( cruyffj playing era or van gaal coacehd era) Barcelona ever since cuyffs, Quinta del Buitre RM or Del bosque Rm, Saccis, Milan Ac , 80s Liverpool, Fergussons Mufc and etc.

I don't believe you've watched footy for that long.
South America has had some great players and some great international teams. Europe has had many more.

REALLY.
Let's see, Europe about 50 countries... South America, 12....
FIFA is an Europe organization and started with European teams. In addition, even with a lack of infrastructure and corruption, South America is producing great players..... especially, attackers.

Casillas had the luck to play for RM since the "galatictos" era, otherwise he is average GK.
Great in blocks penalty but, other than that, he made a lot of good safes but many silly mistake.
In this era (post 90') I easily pick Buffon, Kahn, Neuer (but he begins to make stupid things), Schmeichel over him.

what does number of countries have to do with anything?
That's like saying Brazil should be 24times better than Germany because it's so much bigger!
You're clearly young and south American

combine americas they have same amount of members and they are still far behind europe. number of countries argument makes no sense, uefa has to carry less successful eastern europe while conmebol doesnt have to carry less successful north america because fifa has no balls.

That would be true, if teams like Argentina and Brazil were allow to field a B and C team.
RAther than have some European team take them like they do with Africans.
It's more like Europe has better infrastructure/money than South America. Talent wise, Europe cannot come close.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
Sincé mexico 86
times that a Comenbol team has faced a uefa team in the knockout rounds ( 1/8 1/4 , semi or final) = 40
Wins for comenbol = 19 = 47,5% all of them belong to Arg ( 9) and Bras ( 10)
Wins for UEFA = 21 = 52,5% 6 defeats for Arg 6 defeats for Bra 2 for Chi 1 for Ecu 4 for Par 2 for Uru
so basically no comenbol team outside of Brasil and Argentina has been able to knockout an euro team.
All the times one of those 8 teams not named arg/bra has reached far in the tourney has been by beating Africam/asian/northamerican teams.
and then you got the 3 wins (arg 86, Bra94, Bra02) vs 5 Wins ( Ger 90, Fra 98, Ita 06, Spa 10, Ger 14) record too.
Basically the Southamerica > Europe thing is completley Bogus.

SO, because a continent that fields 13 teams in a tournament vs South America that fields 4 in a tournament.....Of course, more than likely it's going to be either Brazil or Argentina when FIFA ONLY ALLOWS 4 countries in South America to play in the tournament.
Also, doesn't really matter because Brazil + Argentina is better than Europe.
Also, going back to TEAM EUROPE vs SA. I fancy my chances with Vidal vs Europe. Give me Messi-Thiago-Vidalvs Modric/Verrati-Pogba-Busquets/Kroos.

Lol no one denies Brazil and Argentina are ON PAR with Germany , Italy.
But then there is a GIGANTIC gap of quality on the next step there is no Spain, France, Holland, England, Portugal in southamerica and it really is not a given that the CHiles and Uruguays are better than the belgiums, Russias, Czech republics, turkeys etc.
oh and btw, that Braizl and Argentina " is better than europe" is not accurate, they are better than the Croatias or Belgiums they find every now and then on their way, their record vs the big fish in europe is not as nice

Actually, if you think about it.
It's a huge disadvantage for South America, mainly due to top SA players having to move to Europe and not the other way around. As we saw with Germany and Spain their strong teamplay has a lot to due with them all playing together on club teams.
Germany and Bayern: Neuer, Lahm, Boateng, BAstian, Kroos and Muller
Spain and Barcelona/Madrid: Casillas Ramos Pique Puyol Busquets Cesc Villa Alonso Iniesta Xavi
South Americans have to play in Europe one week, than go back to South America and mix with guys they see a few times a year. Better results, maybe due to stats. Better talent, probably not. As we saw with so many Champ LEague finals, EUro finals, the better team did not win.

Big game tonight. Italy against Spain. It's rare you get a game as big as that in the qualifiers.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.
