Tough to find, but positives from this game. Our rookie got a bunch of minutes from Hornacek, and performed well. Warren started off rough, but did better in the second half. Leuer proves he should get more minutes, most likely at the expense of Tele.

Teletovic on a one year contract. Nothing more than seeing if he can get into good form.

Worst of all the team's starting power forward is playing horribly on purpose. I want one person on this board to tell me that Markieff just happened to have a bad game. No way. 4 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 1 steal, 5 FOULS, 1-6 fg in 11 minutes. 5 fouls in 11 minutes. Since when did Markieff turn into a foul machine. He had one foul in the third quarter where he plowed over players to run over a three point shooter. If you do not think he is doing it intentionally I do not know what to tell you.
This exactly what I said would happen. Markieff will try to poison the season himself. Marcus has looked great on the Pistons and this is probably the worst game of Markieff's career. And seriously, Jeff Hornacek, wow. Talk about a team with no direction or discipline. Idk what the Suns are even doing out there. Awful spacing and shooting and the organization has no one to blame but themselves. What a shame. Rips my heart out to watch my favorite franchise turn into a laughingstock.
The roster is definitely flawed with our glaring hole at PF. I like Leuer, but he obviously probably isn't starting material for a good team. Striking out on Aldridge was big. You are right though. Kieff looked like what you have been saying he would do tonight. It is hard for me to believe he will tank his career in such an effort, but based on one game, who knows?
For the most part, this game seemed like an anomaly, because our shots were not falling and their shots just seemed to sink. But then again they were mostly vets and we are mostly young guys. Not an excuse, because this is a game we should have won, but I can't imagine we will often see a shooting night like that from our guys and so many shots just sinking for the others. Even with wide open shots, no team will often shoot 47% from 3.

Well at least the Bengals are for real.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read in an overreaction thread. Outstanding work.

He can't make our guys shoot better just through will.
Side note: can Chandler jump anymore? And if not, did our guards get the memo?
Exactly. If McD puts together a team of a bunch of guys that can't shoot, it's tough. And Kieff doesn't seem to be helping tonight. Thank God he drafted Booker though. And Warren. But vets that can shoot is what you need in games like this. But it is one game. If this happens often, we have serious problems, except for those who want us to get a high pick....funny thing is most that seem to want us to tank and get a high pick want Hornacek gone but if he is so bad, why not keep him for the high pick?
Bledsoe career fg percentages: 44.6% fg, 32.5% 3pts
Knight career fg percentages: 41.7% fg, 36.5% 3pts
It is going to happen often. 140 million dollars for two point guards who are not close to all-stars. Neither makes players around them better. The most important aspect of the point guard position is their biggest weakness. This team is going nowhere with them.

About time one of my teams is good. This team won't be relevant for 10+ years. Reminds me of the 1990s Bengals

Ugly ugly game. Basically what I saw in the pre-season. Just a whole lot of iso plays from the perimeter leading to either a straight line drive or kick out. Still early days, this team has potential to be very potent but it needs to do more than just drive and kick.

Uhh what are you talking about it. This is exactly what I said all preseason. This game just further confirms it. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY on here was virtually counting this game as a win saying the Mavs suck blah blah blah. Now fans see exactly what I and other fans said all along. But this was even worse than I imagined. At one point the Suns were losing by 29 points in the second half. AT HOME. On opening night. To a supposed Mavericks team which many people expect to fall out of the playoffs and do nothing.
And I want to be clear. I am NOT HAPPY that the Suns were blown out. I wanted them to win. The most disappointing thing was how unprepared they looked. At this point, how could you not blame Hornacek. Ryan McDonough was on the radio today saying how excited he was to get this season started because of the bad taste that everyone still has from how last season ended. Then the team comes out and gets destroyed. The best player on the team is an 18 year old kid. It is insane.

Those Bledsoe shooting #s are about the same as Kobe's (slightly worse). Anyone who shoots a lot of 3s like Knight, will have a worse overall fg%. Knight's biggest problem is turnovers...his shooting wasn't that bad tonight.
But in a league with so many great shooters and point guards, our roster doesn't look great. But it's not like we can just automatically trade for them. I'm pissed like you that the team sucks...but I am happy we have young guys like Booker and Warren playing minutes now...and Len...I'm a hell of a lot happier than 3 years ago when we were trying to pretend we could contend with players on the downside of their career like Nash, Scola, Dudley, Gortat....we were going no where and trying to hang on...finally we are starting to get some pieces. Do I like the Knight trade? Not really, but I am hopeful it somehow works out ok....if not, we suck and get more building blocks. It seems like McD drafts well, so we have that.

Did not foresee Zaza being the best center in the game.
You guys have got to dump Kieff. I realize a lot of your main guys had off nights, but man did that guy make it clear that he didn't give an F tonight. Just embarrassing. Don't see how Hornacek tolerates much more of that.
Was really impressed by Booker. Not even 19 yet and the game didn't seem too big for him. And I have always loved Warren's old man at the Y offensive game. That's a pretty sweet wing duo of the future.

Dirk Nowitzki wrote:Matthews, Williams and Parsons haven't played at all this pre-season. Dirk played in two games. The backup Center is dreadful - just yesterday there was a glimpse of Len abusing it, I can see the Suns dominating the boards with ease. The only legit center is Pachulia and he is better as a backup. Ditto for the SF position --- Evans will probably start and he can't shoot to save his life. All this to say that in all honesty the Suns should blowout the Mavs. This is my best attempt at reverse jynxing this thing. Good luck for the rest of the season guys.
I think it worked. Good job.

I suppose this game further confirms that the Suns will go 0-82. I've been saying that all preseason, no-one's been listening to me. These people are all fools.

Off Season - Wouldn't trade these players for an All-Star, too much to give up.
20 minutes in - Trade them all for no.1 pick, long 10 years ahead.

Dude, we are almost 1.3% through the season! The next 10 years will be brutal for sure. No question.

Aldridge sure dodged a bullet. One of the 2 Pg's got to go, preferably the one who cant shoot.
