As I said in a previous post, the only way this team has any chance of competing for a championship is to have Schroder and Westbrook in the starting lineup and playing 30+ minutes per game together the same way Houston does with Paul and Harden who both take turns handling the ball, scoring and setting up players. If Russ can handle mentally some of his stats dropping (and that's a big if) and allowing Schroder to run the offense some it's clear this team will run much better as Schroder really does a great job facilitating more guys and the offense flows better. This gives them enough of an offensive punch they can beat anybody with 3 guys out there for the majority of the game that can all create their own offense and set other guys up. It's fun to watch this team when they get Adams involved more consistently throughout the game, take better shots and play solid defense like they did in this one.

-Noticed warriors missed a shot and grant and Russ were alone for a rebound. Last year that was russ’ rebound. Grant got it and gave the ball to Russ. Russ didn’t even try to box out for the rebound like years past.

-Patterson sucks. TLC doesn’t. TLC is isnt great but he could have been a nice rotation piece signed cheaply if he had been given a shot.

-Apparently Noel had a procedure on his eye and that’s why he’s wearing those glasses.

-Very glad that Diallo’s injury wasn’t more serious. He does so much when he’s out there. Missed a three and gets his own rebound. He had a nice cut to the basket where he would have gotten a basket but Noel got fouled and couldn’t get the pass to him. Blocks Durant and them loses the ball for an assist to George, lol.

-Will this team ever get healthy? So far we’ve been fortunate that none of the injuries are season ending but we have yet to see this team at full strength. We lost two guys to ankle injuries. Nerlens gets busted in the face. We need a break.

-Give grant credit for knocking down a three and getting a steal after Diallo’s injury. I think that had a calming presence on the rest of the team. But...

-We’ve seen enough of the warriors to know they just aren’t that great without Steph and Draymond but this was still an impressive win. Their crowd knows it too. That being said, beating the lousy wizards in the road was a good win and this one was even more so. If you weren’t a fan of either team, the game was kind of boring.

-Adams, George and Schroder were fantastic. Russ wasn’t as bad as some made him seem. He just doesn’t look in game shape yet. Russ took the third most shots in the team and only one shot more than the fourth leading player. If anything he DIDNT force the issue. My biggest complaint is he needs to take less threes and take the ball to the basket more. Perhaps that will come as he gets his wind back. He had a great drive for a layup to answer the warrior run around the 9 minute mark of the third quarter. I did see one player who is supposed to be a superstar take a bunch of garbage shots. He plays for golden state.

-There are always hot Asian girls at warrior games.

I think haberstoh did a piece on it, but they may just be Steph and filler. He is the only one of their stars to maintain an elite net rating without the others. I think it was something like with Steph on and the others off gsw is +14, and by contrast with KD on and the others off there -0.5.

The truth is that they have very little depth and are designed around what Steph brings so things look really bad right now.

I had started to say just Steph all along in the initial post but threw in Draymond at the last minute since Steph actually has missed a bunch of games in the a last couple years and the wheels have never fallen off like they appear to be right now. Watching that team last night it was amazing just how average they looked on both ends of the floor without those two.

Just watched the game. I wasn't happy to beat the warriors because I love Diallo so much but now after reading this thread I can finally enjoy the win.

But..when 2016-2017 Westbrook comes back? :(

Great win for you, it's good you can dominate even when Westbrook is clearly nowhere near 100% and his shot is completely off. When Shroder gets hot, he's extremely hard to stop because of his quickness and the floater. Also great job on D by everyone, especially George and Adams, you really exposed Klay and Durant's lack of playmaking skills.

We shouldn't sell ourselves short in my opinion. These games count, even if the other team isn't in the best form of its life. And since the 0-4 start, we've blown out teams more often than not.

Russ was very clearly out of rhythm, shape, basically everything you can think of.

It's nice to see he let others carry when he knew he wasn't able to do it himself. Hopefully he can get back into the flow of it soon.

Stop. Schroder has a role, but not continually playing alongside Russ for 30+ minutes a game.

Last year OKC would lose these types of games. This year they are winning them.

Why is it nonsense? It makes a ton of sense for Westbrook. It makes a ton of sense for Schroder. It makes a ton of sense for the team. Convince me I’m wrong.

I'm leaving for the day. But Schroder is a career .516 TS scorer on lower usage. Westbrook is a career .532 TS on higher usage. So giving it to the less efficient player would make no sense. Schroder had a good game. This is like saying let Grant chuck 3s after he randomly has a hot game when he's a career 30% shooter. It makes no sense like most of what gets spouted.

It makes no sense whatsoever. Dennis freaking Schröder is not even in the same realm as Russell Westbrook as a player and as a playmaker. Westbrook will go down as an all-time-great and will be remembered for decades. Schröder is as relevant as Harrison Barnes to the NBA. You wouldn't ask Klay Thompson to take a step back so Rodney Hood can teach him how to shoot either.
This sort of pseudo-gloating you're trying to do is accomplishing nothing but to make you look folish. Dragan Bender is still a scrub who will be out of the league very soon and Dennis Schröder is still not the teacher, but the pupil in this relationship. This was true at the beginning of the season and it still is now, 17 games in.
