I like the fact that this organization does not affraid to take risk of youth. Our core players are all under 30s, our POBO is 41 yrs old, HC is 33 yrs old. All candidates for HC are below 50s.

Who's the assistant GM? Me :D .

Heard you pulled out of the running after Ryan was names head coach.

I can’t embed tweets on my phone or at least don’t know how. The new assistant GM is the international scouting director the Nets. Came from the Houston organization before that.

Actually I jumped in after the report on Saunders. That incident demonstrated how desperately they need my help. I'm angry over this. I just can't believe we would do something like this. I mean I believe it. I just can't understand it. How can they justify it. Compare the resumes. It must all come down to KAT likes Ryan. That is Ryan's one and only credential.

Gianluca Pascucci - Team - Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves have hired Gianluca Pascucci to be their assistant GM.
Pascucci was the director of global scouting for the Nets and has developed a relationship with Timberwolves’ president Gersson Rosas while they were in Houston.

I don't know if Layden was retained to be ball boy or something.

It's not just about resumes. I think talking to these guys and understanding how they think and work is major part of the decision.

And I'm not saying that Saunders was the best man for the job, I'm just saying then we discuss who we would choose, we are missing a major piece to the puzzle.

I appreciate what your saying, but Saunders was never even a lead assistant. This is seriously one of the most and possibly the most disappointing decisions I can recall the Wolves making. Picking Ndudi Ebi over Josh Howard might still be the most, but these are close. It came down to resume then as well. Josh Howard I think was ACC player of the year. Ebi looked good guarding somebody at a practice. It's the same level.

Yep he's a likeable guy and he's Flip's son. Sounds like an NBA Head Coach to me. I never said anything in my entire life about KAT being a bad leader so you got me confused with somebody else.

I thought that it was you, who accused KAT of being bad leader in Butler situation, that KAT basically made Jimmy out of this team. If it was not you then sorry.

There were rumors about Butler banging KAT's GF. At that time I said if true they should work that out man to man. I have no idea if that was true and I didn't say KAT was a bad leader.

Rumor was that KAT had given an ultimatum that if Butler was on the team he wouldn't play. I had a big problem if the rumors were true and KAT was lying about it all. That was never proven. As a matter of fact it was disproven because KAT did play with Butler again

I'm cool with it. He isnt a retread 60 yr old coach. Give him a fresh slate. Last year was doomed from the get go.

Anybody who knows me knows I'm not the negative Nellie type. I'm just mind boggled over how a choice like keeping Saunders could be made by a supposedly intelligent human being. I post on the Talk Vikes message board in the Timberwolves thread. The most respected guy there who normally gets things right had this to say.

David Levine
Hachimura is Adreian Payne

Both guys look the part, both are scorers first, both are totally lost on defense and neither seem to have any feel for the game.

He’s a really bad defender, a poor rebounder and a lousy decision maker.

IMO, he’s going to be a guy who you bring in with your 2nd unit and just ask him to score a lot.

But to his credit, Rui apparently has normal human lungs…

If we hire Saunders and made a promise to draft Hachimura, the Rosas era could not get off to a worse start.

I feel like the power that be strongly wanted Ryan to get the job and Rosas' hands were tied. He probably wants his own coach appointed but didn't want to ruffle feathers right away. My guess is he will take Ryan on and if things go poorly, Ryan is out there door with a short leash. That way Rosas can say "Hey, we tried it your way." to Glenn and and the players while still bringing in his own guy within the first 18 months of his new job.

The biggest downside to this is that we could spend another season with a coach that isn't right for us and we will have to bring in yet another coach for guys like KAT who have had a carousel already. It is what it is.

I think you have it just about right. Are contract details out? How many years guaranteed and how much per year? Saunders should get the lowest and shortest contract ever given for a HC. Nobody I mean nobody else would have any interest. The only bidding on him would be against ourselves.
