I went back recently and read Beals comments and I think more than a lot of other guys he really doesn’t want to leave. Losing a lot next year could change that, but I don’t think the Wiz will move him this offseason

The problem is that trading him with one year left on his deal really does impact his trade value. A team like the Pelicans could drop out of the bidding at that point, or at least substantially lower their offer, because they've got one less year to try to make it work. You don't want to get stuck with Beal handing on a name of contenders who he'll considering extending with in the final year of his deal.

They’re gambling on keeping him. I don’t like the gamble, but I think it’s what they’ll do.

I guess Hassan Whiteside is opting in and asking for a trade...

Not a rumor. Just a piece on the Lakers possibly being able to have max cap space July 6th. For those unfamiliar with David Lord(most of you I'm guessing) he's like the Dallas Smitty in terms of being a real cap nerd. If he says its doable, my guess would be its doable.

Anyway just sharing in case anyone cares. A bit of a read, but not too bad.

Thanks for sharing this, Chuck. I had thought there would be a workaround of some kind but since my job wants me to do stuff hadn’t gotten around to really working on it.

He's another guy who the team should put the onus on the agent to find a trade.

Whiteside posted something on his Instagram about the Hornets when he was back home in Charlotte, but I hope the team has learned its lesson when it comes to bigs who don't play winning basketball.

True. But there is a chance they actually get it back together in time; the idea of shopping the players they are shopping isn't so far fetched.

Man, Horford would look great in Utah.

Of course he's the kind of player who would look great pretty much anywhere.

I mean the problem to me is CHA doesn’t have bigs that are very good at basketball at all, so Whiteside would be a huge improvement. He’s not Dwight, Kemba could motivate him/

If it's a late first from this draft, I hope they just cut him.

When is the guarantee date on Smith? It seems like his value goes up if a team has an agreed to deal and needs the cap space.

So a 2020 1st is more valuable?
