He will stay IMO too. I think there are no better players out there that we can trade for. Let's stick with this roster and don't ruin our great chemistry.

Honestly, I don't think the answer is simply "add a better PG" for Kuz... Because the 'decision making' thing, and I agree this is the main problem, also manifests itself in the simple catch/shoot opportunities he gets... He passes them up for contested drives.
Kuz needs a more free role, where he's not asked to step in and convert at a high level... I think he needs spend some more time on a non-playoff team, where he can relax and just do his thing, and no matter what he does, it's all good...
It's not so much his fault, it's just that expectations for Kuz was that he'd be a volume scorer off the bench to take the pressure off AD and LeBron... He's just not consistent enough to be that guy... Honestly, he never was... But I think we all hoped he had the potential to be that this season.
I will say this though... Kyle Kuzma did everything he possibly could to honor Kobe against Portland. Respect for that...
It's just unfortunate that scoring wasn't really his main contribution that game.

I still don't get the point about him being a microwave player. They play him 8 less minutes, they give him 5 fewer shots, yet expect him to still be the scorer he was. It makes little sense to me because hat 8 minutes of game time is like 20 real time of whythm being lost. My biggest complaint about Vogle is this team has no 6th man. No one has gotten actual 6th man minutes, shots, or the guarantee to close games outside AD and Bron.
I can see some saying thats no big deal but we all know better, heck I don't care how young you are or old you are Phil taught the masses that. It didn't matter if Fish got torched, Horry couldn't hit a shot, Fox was in foul trouble, Kobe was being the hero, or hack a Shaq. You finished Fish, Kobe, Fox, Horry, and Shaq. The pattern repeated itself and it didn't matter what Bynum did, Odom knew he would finish with Kobe, Fish, whoever we had out Sasha/Rad/Luke/Trevor/Metta and Pau. When the playoffs come I think that is going to be the thing that bites us, yes we can get stops with a lost any group, but nk group truly knows one another back against the wall down 20 into the fourth on the road in meaningful game.
I think Kuz and this team as a whole need a definition of this is the closers and this guy is the sixth man no matter what. Every elite team we have got molly whopped by had its group. Lou and Harrell know they are closing with PG and Kawhi when healthy. Giannis, Brook, Middleton, Bledsoe know they close. The Sixers know their five starters finish together. I don't see that definition for the Lakers and for the regular season it isn't as big a problem to you play a real contender, but in the playoffs its going to cost this team.

LeBron... and Vogel by proxy don't trust anyone but Davis to close games. Earlier in the year you heard in separate interviews Bron, Davis and Vogel parrot the exact same thing about the overwhelming majority of the set looks will be for Davis and Bron.
Kuzma is in a no-win situation. Fewer shots, fewer minutes no part of the system for him.... and all of this with the same expectations from the fan base. Time to move on. He'll excel elsewhere. On the flip side we shouldn't hope his replacement will be much more productive unless Bron/Vogel deem it appropriate to include another player.
I still think that they will try very hard to trade him for a 30+ year old vet and maybe a pick to pass along to someone else. My guess is that the rookies will also be going out. I don't see the LeBron reign here being about developing anyone. It will be an aged vet revolving door of one year contracts IMHO with the hopes that we could sign another top FA to replace Lebron.

The 2-man combo of James and Kuzma has the 2nd to the highest +15.3pts only next to Caruso/James at +23.6. The problem IMO, is that they don't play enough mins together (557mins) unlike Lebron with AD/Green/KCP/Howard/Bradley who play more mins at the same time. The Kuzma/AD/James mins together is not even in the top 10 in mins played together per basketballref.
The problem IMO, is that Kuzma at 6-9 is a SF/PF combo, the same position of Lebron and AD and he can't chase most SGs and can't hit his shots on a consistent basis. It would have helped if AD is ok playing center so you can slide him in but in reality he's not.
I really thought Rondo and Vogel's staff could have helped set up Kyle for better shots but it's not happening unfortunately.

Most realistic way to make the money work is Kuzma, Bradley and Cousins.
Then get Collison to replace Bradley’s role
Collison/Rondo
Green/Caruso
Lebron/KCP
Davis/Morris
McGee/Howard

If we can get an incoming of Collison, Iggy, and Morris. Now thats a lineup that would STOP COLD other elite teams

1) The guy who left Klutch badly is coming here?
2) Morris in a contract year go be cool comign off the bench playign 24 mins, getting less shots, and moving away from his family

Those seem like questions you would ask of someone who was just guessing or hoping the Lakers would pursue Morris, but seeing as how Shams is reporting they’re interested in him, those questions seem kind of irrelevant.

Re: The Kuzma Thread
Kuzma is finding his niche. Hustle. Grab boards. Drive dish. Not just hit 3s. Unfortunately, our organization may not believe that we have the time to give him. Ball and Ingram are finding their game. Kuz likewise is on the growth and improvement search.
Morris name is mentioned, i believe, because the clips have their DAWG. Montrez. Morris i believe, is our organizations belief, is that response.
Instead of waiting for the Kuz hustle and board guy to come around. Morris already has some of that installed.

Clips have been attached to him too by reports. And honestly I think people are throwing his name out because Mills was fired and he was adamant that he was untouchable (why I don't know).
To me while people talk about Marcus, we should be creeping and talking about getting Markieff for a stretch big. His deal is cheap. You can keep Kuz. And the element of using Kuz asa swing with him as the stretch big still gives us added size. That is just me though,

Kuzma either really wants to stay or really wants to move on... Can't tell which... But he's been playing pretty well over the last week or so.

Kuz does best with his very streaky shooting on the nights when he dives to the floor and embraces his inner junkyard dog.

I think it's honoring Kobe tbh because they talked about how he had called Kobe and asked for advice to deal with trade rumors recently.

What I'm more impressed is with the rebounding, The rebounding allows him to stay in the games where he's not shooting well. Usually when he's not scoring, he offers nothing to the lakers so its good to see him get rebounding. Hopefully, for the lakers it remains more consistent.

Re: The Kuzma Thread
His biggest problem is that he is sharing the floor with Rondo who takes away from his unique abilities such as being an on ball scorer at his size.
