Only if you agree that all his dunks were 50s (they were not )would you also think nutting taco in a final dunk was a 50 too. His jet wash spinner that took a 2nd attempt was the only true 50 he had all night. Jones had 1 true 50 with the off the backboard btwn legs hurdle.
If anything it could have been a tie and the way it ended was questionable by the judges given how over friendly they were throughout until then but the reality is they were out of time and the man did not jump over taco he basically jumped into his shoulders and the dunk was boring = big fat L

It was a stunt so everyone loved it. That's all that was special. He hit Tacos head.. DJJ had a better night and finish.

Well the good news is Dwight says he's open to doing another dunk contest.

Let’s not get carried away now. AG should have won yes, but HOF? Stop.

DJJ did between the legs in all but one dunk. How original..

DJJ didn't do anything wrong. He's the most athletic guy on the court imo by far, he was just a bit less creative.

If you're gonna hate anyone hate Wade.

Also
Gordon/Lavine > Gordon/DJJ

And it isn't even close. The announcers trying to hype it like it was the greatest since Jordan vs Nique, nah it was the greatest since Gordon vs Lavine.
In terms of actual dunks Lavine/Gordon >>> jordon/Wilkins

He used different setups/angles.

He never did the exact same dunk twice in a row.

Don't forget that Wade also robbed Connaughton's first dunk with an 8. Clearing way for DJJ to squeeze into the finale

I don't know about this time, but what was just wrong in 2016 was that his last dunk was amazing enough to be a top3 of that contest, just it was not understood

Jones Jr didn't just clip Bam on his first dunk, he pushed off him for leverage - and he missed the first attempt.

What was his score? 46. Gordon's score for making the dunk over Tacko on the first attempt, without pushing off but clipping his head, and he gets a 47?

Does Jones Jr deserve credit for great dunks? Yeah, they were great dunks - and they were also all appropriations of Gordon's epic 2016 dunks over Stuff. So yeah, he did a great job imitating Gordon, and even made some epic dunks of his own (he was legit very good).

But no, Gordon should have won. Scoring should have something close to an official system to it.

That says all for me.

Not by the judge's scores.
