Jordan was also a douche tho, in some ways a much worse person in many ways yet he gets far less hate.

I hate this logic. With the benefit of hindsight we now know that the Cavs did an all time terrible job at putting a team around him. He was eliminated twice by the original modern era super team and when a GM couldn't do it, he decided to do it himself.

People can see him leaving Miami as 'jumping ship', but we also know he cares about his image, and the only way to rehab that was to come back to Cleveland. With his relationship with Gilbert, that was never going to last forever.

Kyrie and Love were overrated before LeBron, and AD was generally an after thought. Davis never really quite lived up to his hype. The rest of the Lakers are just role players.

He teamed up with Wade and Bosh - but think about it - if we compare LeBron to Pierce, which combo is better: Allen/Garnett or Wade/Bosh. Pretty even IMO. So here is what bothers people:

That he left - stupid because the other players he's compared to were never in this bad of a situation with their original team (at least before winning a title)

Teaming up with Wade and Bosh - again, stupid. Wade and Bosh never won MVPs and while Wade won a title before, he had Shaq. People are mad that he did this because of who he is compared to, but see my point above.

His personality - also stupid because no other athlete this popular had the social media era to deal with. Imagine if what happened with Kobe in Colorado happened today, after the me too movement. YIKES. Also, Jordan had similar things, we just didn't know all about them.

The decision - was bad and he earned the dislike from it.

The other aspects of his personality that people don't like - the passive aggressiveness, "narcissistic", etc. - are things people see because they already dislike him. I HATED LeBron for leaving Cleveland. When they lost to Dallas it was incredible. But I never once thought be was narcissistic, and his personality never bothered me. The only thing that bothered me was that he left, and the decision. After time had passed, it was clear that he had to leave so that didn't bother me anymore.

Switching teams once was fine. Miami had elite management and could have built another winner around him (as we are literally seeing right now). But he switched teams 2 more times after that.

We're we though? Neither Wade nor Bosh were having much success on their own, and LeBron and the Cavs got bounced by that team from Boston with three hall of famers. I guess that would be.....the original modern era super team and the main reason LeBron joined up with Wade. Hmm. Interesting.
