LOL there are fewer FTs being nowadays than ever.

2018 had the lowest amount of FTs in NBA HISTORY. Adam Silver’s NBA actually gives fewer whistles than Stern’s NBA.

I don’t understand why this narrative keeps being repeated in the face of overwhelming evidence that it’s not true. Reminds me of that Geobbels quote: “repeat a lie enough times and people will believe it to be truth”.

I’m no fan of Adam Silver, but he’s doing the right thing if he’s ignoring the lamentations of RealGM posters.

I am intruiged where do you get such a stat from?
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

I mean this is the reason why, excluding quality of the players, European or south American basketball are much more enjoyable. Although Tim is also forgetting superstar calls that become really crazy in Jordan era and do not exist (to that extent in international basketball). Traveling and carrying the ball is another good example that was already wrong in his era, rules were made so that game becomes more athletic dominated and less skill dominated, since many of the leapers would by original rules just got travel all the time. But NBA is first business and then sport, International basketball is the opposite.

Υep. First time I heard the expression "the product on the floor" was when I started talking to American fans here. Never thought of basketball as a product before. I was so used to European clubs actually losing money, and eventually some rich owner bailing them out because he tries to get into politics and wants the fan support, or he's a mafia guy laundering money, or whatever the **** they're doing. To me basketball was always just a sport, and not very popular, and that's perfectly fine. Never saw the reason to try and change it to make it more popular, it is what it is and if you don't like it go watch football with the rest.

However... All that NBA money-making strategy and changing the sport to attract the various random casuals from watching their soap operas, although it's sad and disgusting, it actually made possible to have all the top talent from allover the world in one league. And that's the first time this happens. I don't have to think about what if Galis was here or Oscar Schmidt was here or young Sabonis or whatever. They're all here, playing against each other. And that's great.

So you gotta take the good with the bad.
