Walker and Fournier can't play defense.

You think? Thibs was quoting +/- statistics while defending Taj Gibson (after Boozer complained about not plaging in the 4th quarter) while Thibs coached the Bulls. And the use of analytics has grown considerably since then.

Cavs have a good balance of vets and young players along with no selfishness (outside of sexton). They are a legitimately balanced team

The Hawks' Lindsay Hunter is out for 2 months for wrist surgery

Big blow for them, already reeling on defense. With the Bulls and Cavs both looking like legit playoff teams, someone's gonna get bounced. Suddenly a down year for Trae and a step back defensively and they might not reach the play-in.

I'll keep saying it, I think this East is wildly up for grabs this season - though I expect the Nets to be an easy #1.

The Hawks are truly in terrible shape if they're relying on 50-year-old Lindsey Hunter.

Haha I love when my brain can't separate old player names from new ones. The other day I mentioned Bruce Bowen as a current Nets player. My brains. Guess I sympathize with Neil Funk now!

Kings bout to fire Luke Walton. Man that franchise needs a full makeover including owners. Its already been 15 years without playoffs. May make a new NBA record of 16.

That would be DeAndre not Lindsay. That being said I think it is a big blow for them, but I expect the Hawks to look better as the season goes on. Last year they were a second half team (that being in part to a coaching change) but they also may have been buying into their own hype to being the season. This year is wide open though for sure.

Good thing Lebron isn’t playing tonight ,
When he returns I think I envision him as more of a point power forward .

With an all star ball handling pointguard , ball handing on the wing becomes less valuable .
Now you have ball handling , distribution and scoring from your big. And it is a more direct connection for a 1/2 punch with AD playing more center.

AD kind of has his own designated pointguard with Lebron at the 4. It’s just some strategy I’ve thought of and I’m actually looking forward to Lebrons return.

Just not vs Chicago etc.

generally ive been against this idea, but at times the lakers looked slower with lebron playing sf.
Its not right while guys like AD and westbrook are extremely more faulted.

I not really sure that having an owner like that on the bench is conducive to winning, but

The fact that WCJ has become a good 3 point shooter annoys me.

he finally has an exciting young squad good for him to show up and support them. MJ seems like he's in a good place in retirement I'm happy for him.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

He was trash here. I'm glad he's playing better but he wasn't the answer in Chicago.

Yeah the man finally seems settled into retirement and is actively involved with the team. He was a ghost there for a while. That can’t be bad for the team imho. He isn’t Washington Jordan either who was looking to wreck players. He matured and I mean who isn’t excited to see MJ on a basketball court even if he isn’t playing. It’s a good look and I have been critical of him in the past for seeming uninvolved. It is Jordan, not someone like Ballmer or Reinsdorf. Having him cheer his team on has more weight.

It was bad all around. This team and his role were never right. Injuries and the losing culture ughhh both sides needed to be done with it. I am also glad for him but really can’t stand looking at him so I am so glad he is in Orlando. Yup I’m petty.

Boylen broke him, I'm glad he's found his footing. Also, I believe actually getting extended and being set for life helped him with his confidence.
