No... that's a canned response Herro is giving to the reporter. Also, notice he's calm and doesn't really seem bothered by the game they just lost.
Here's the video of Herro saying
"lack of focus" on the defensive end. "We were down some guys still, but with the guys we had out there, we could've gotten the job done."
Spoiler:
And here's Bam... the basketball's just not going in for us now.
Spoiler:
This team barely has a pulse and seems to have no pride. I will say this, Herro shows some emotion ()#$ talking some defender he just scored on, other than that... really nothing.

Pistons really have some pieces that would be very nice to have here. Stewart is developing nicely and is agile for being a bruiser. He’s only 21.
Stewart, Bey, Bojan (can’t be traded), Cory Joseph, Burks would all fit great here

I’ve been wanting reddish. He’s a great talent and hasn’t got a fair shake imo. He’d be good off the bench

Honestly, I might be pissed off a bit as well if I was Bam. Barely any offense being run for you, barely get your number called on offense, and have this huge responsibility on the defense end trying to cover for guys in the paint that weigh 200lbs and are 6'5".
Imagine spending all summer working on your offensive game and the coach still resorts to an 'equal opportunity offense' where d-league affiliates Max Strus, Caleb Martin and Gabriel Vincent have the ultimate green light and you don't.
Again, you're down Jimmy Butler and you're at home against the second worst team in the NBA. Why would you rely on d-league players to bring you home instead of your so-called stars? Bam took 16 shots last night. That's 1 above his regular season average. We were down our best player. The math doesn't add up - there's supposed to be a carry job by your best players but there wasn't. You know why? Because the guy barely has his number called offensively.
Last night, Herro and Bam should have both taken 20+ shots, and the coach should have utilized a game plan to ensure that happens. Instead, lesser talented offensive folks were able to get more shots in and brick them, costing us the game.
Yeah, yeah, the defense is bad.. but guess what, if you're barely hitting 90 against the Pistons in 2022, you have some serious offensive identity issues.

To top it off, I’m sure we were disappointed when Mitchell went to the Cavs but I bet Bam was fuming. Mitchell literally said “I thought playing in the Miami pro league so much this summer was preparing Bam and I to play together next season in Miami.” I just know Bam was pissed off.
Plus like you said he’s the entire defense and hasn’t got the recognition he deserves for years now because he’s too busy doing everything offensively for lesser players to get open looks.
We better be careful here, if he were to leave in free agency to join Mitchell and garland in Cleveland or Tatum and Brown in Boston it would set this franchise back so far.

Re: Miami Heat 22-23 Regular Season Thread 2.0
Put the pieces together and realize there’s a major rift between Jimmy Bam Herro and Spo.
Obviously Jimmy and Spo last season.
Herro and Spo after Sacramento where Spo thought he was selfish and I think Herros reply was him and Bam need to play more free on offense and be selfish at times?
Then Bam last night basically calling Spo out for no continuity in the rotation. Could be at the players too since they’re always out. Hell maybe he’s pissed at Jimmy. Maybe he’s mad because Dipo was ready but we were holding him out. But him and Spo have also argued about Bam wanting more shots and needing to be more of a focal point to better the team while spo prefers one dimensional guys in Duncan and Strus get just as many if not more shots than him. Which now it makes me think Spos comments after the Celtics game we’re a shot at Bam and Herro when he said “Jimmy plays the right way, he doesn’t care how many shots he gets” or maybe I’m just overthinking it.

You're not wrong. It's funny going into the season everyone had the Nets as the dumpster fire, looking at how we play, how much "intensity" some of our star player play with and that dumpster fire is us looking at the mirror. This would be the typical team that gets its star poached for peanuts, that's what we have been reduced to thus far, trash on fire.

Jimmy missed yesterday’s game because the Heat want him to “return to competitive conditioning”. Looks like he failed a conditioning test. Amin on the Le Batard show hinting something is going on between the Heat and Butler.

But because Spo trusts his defense, he will continue to get minutes.....

Re: Miami Heat 22-23 Regular Season Thread 2.0
I honestly hope the team implodes lmao.
Spo was supposed to make serious changes to our scheme this offseason and he has not done so. He has resorted to an equal opportunity offense and switch everything defense with 3 guards on the floor and a 6'5" powerfoward. Nothing has changed, and we're worse because other teams have gotten better and figured out how to slow us down (just make sure the dleaguers don't get hot - not hard to do).
Implode.

Everyone keeps mentioning the 05-06 season and how we started off piss poor but turned it around and won 50 games and the championship.
What they don't mention is how we had a coaching change mid way through that season

Re: Miami Heat 22-23 Regular Season Thread 2.0
I'm so tired of watching an equal opportunity offense. It's not like this is the 2016/17 Heat where Dion Waiters, Hassan Whiteside, and Tyler Johnson are our 3 best players.. we have friggin' Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro for god sakes. Let them carry us offensively.
