Heat have no need for these guys. Maybe a vincent for Beverley swap would work for miami

the heat have a need to get off robinsons deal though. thats the idea, beverly is expiring, and they need insurance in case lowry cant improve his play. i dont even think picks come into play on this deal.

Beverly is interesting but we already have Vincent. Duncans a good shooter, once we have a system that works he will become playable again

We're just not that desperate for guys that will hurt our team.

I forgot the heat mindset, they probably wouldnt be willing to just salary dump a player that they beleive has talent.

This is a low risk, medium reward move for the Lakers. Seems like another Kuzma type. Dude was a pretty good shooter from the field and 3 last year, he can create off the dribble but really offers nothing else lol. Finally Pelinka did something!

I am a huge fan of Nunn. He’s always reminded me of Rozier who is severely underrated. But yeah..Rui is still a blue chip talent and Pelinka absolutely finessed the Warriors here

But this at least gives them some depth to their front court they desperately need. Short term this is good deal. Not sure if he has any potential to be much better though.

what the heck are you talking about? 0 explosiveness? We arent talking about 2022 trevor ariza here dude...

where is the ZERO explosiveness and speed buddy?

How about Pat Bev, Dennis the Menace and Davis. We want a defensive protégé with a catch and shoot 3

Summary of this thread:
1) Lakers got a steal/Wiz should have held out for a first
2) Lakers overpaid /Wiz fleeced them
3) Rui is athletic
4) Rui is slow

I'll admit I haven't watched the Lakers much, but it's not great when your consistently starting two 6-1 guards and a 6-4 SF. If anything, Rui is a guy who's still relatively young with lottery talent who has been able to be a rotation piece in the NBA. Just adding some size on the wing should help. Was there a better deal out there for Nunn's salary slot, some of those 2nds, and maybe a minimum guy or 2 - who knows. Doesn't seem like the Pistons were going to give up Burks for less than a 1st (not worth it for the Lakers) and maybe Josh Richardson isn't as available as we think, or he's a potential buyout guy. Or maybe there is another deal with Pat Bev or Lonnie for a bigger wing like Richardson.

Anyway, low risk because Nunn had no future with the Lakers and two of the 2nds are in years where the Lakers own 2 SRPs. Medium upside because the most you can expect from Rui is turning into an average rotation player.

Is Duncan poor defensively. I thought the main reason he lost minutes to Strus was because Strus has better defense

Yep plus they both were shooting the same percentage. Strus has cooled this year
