How is Morey a fraud? We have the most talented team in the league and is on top of the power ranking. Second in the stacked east.

Luka has been crying for more talent to his team and he may never have a team more talented as this for his entire career.

You’re overreaching.

We have the most talented team in the league? really?

Yes

I think you meant we have the most talented player in the league. I can buy that.

My thoughts:

We can just run through this team if we want to. And we did that in the first half.

Seems to me that we were trying to see if our bench unit has extra gear, they just seem flat the entire time. The shots aren’t going in and Montrez was bad on defense. So that’s a negative on both ends.

This was designed to have that Maxey&bench take over in the first 6 mins of the fourth but they failed to. I think the bench unit should find their extra gear. We inserted Thybulle. But still flat. They can’t just be flat and go with the flow. When the shots aren’t going in, we can’t tighten up the defense because of Montrez and Maxey. While Maxey and Shake can’t dribble drive because of the length of the Magic.

Entire game we weren’t even trying, even when we built that huge lead. Interesting to see how our bench will perform in the next game.

My thoughts: if the Sixers go up 20 in the first half, hop on your favorite betting app and take whoever they are playing.

These guys always let up when they've got a big lead, and then have zero momentum after coasting for a couple quarters.

Yup.

Isnt it quite obvious by now?

We pretty much just let the game get close. I didnt see any sense of urgency, just as how we did during our winning streak.

The theme here should have been our second unit beating this lottery team, but they failed to do so. Partly incompetence, partly they’re trying to find that extra gear.

The beauty with all this is once our second unit can find an extra gear, we wont need to keep playing close games with last 6 minutes of every game.

This was a massive trap game. Two emotional wins previously and the Magic are a bad matchup for us because of their length and athleticism. It sucks to give up a game against a bad team at home but it happens.

The different narratives are funny tho. Endless talk about how the NBA is so talented these days but the second you lose to a young, talented team the sky is falling.

The winning streak is over and the game thread streak is over. Someone else can pick it up Wednesday night.

Agreed. Taking the points against the Sixers has been wise for a couple seasons now, especially anything beyond 4-5 points against "bad" teams. They definitely get too much love from Vegas, even before we acquired Harden almost one year ago.

Let's be honest, we were due for an L, especially squeaking out multiple wins on an undefeated west coast swing and then defending homecourt against two contenders. It's just a shame we held such a big lead last night and coughed that up. Time to refocus because we have the same match-up at home tomorrow night.

Massive trap game indeed. It looked as though we were cruising, I thought Jaden Springer was gonna play. I even stepped away and just started doing other stuff. I go back and check the score and we're down 4 at the end of the third quarter and I'm like WTF? It's one loss, it's not a big deal. This is a streaky league. Orlando is 4 games out of the play in. I realize the other way to look at it is that they are the 5th worst team in the league. Just shows how wide open the league is this year. Games and teams are competitive and we didn't respect them and they beat us. I mean...In a 7 game series against them....We probably sweep them...Maybe they get one win.

Embiid still was by far our best player though, 30 PTS 11 REB 5AST 2STL 2BLK. No other player even cracked 20 points, how about they improve a little bit?
PJ Tucker still sucks, there is no excuse for 0 points, none.
Maxey was the worst bench player with -17.

I just looked at our February/early March schedule and it kind of had me more bothered that we lost last night. We definitely have a tough schedule ahead.

vs ORL
at SAS
at NYK
at BOS
vs NYK
at BKN

vs HOU
vs CLE
vs MEM
vs BOS
vs MIA

at MIA
at DAL
at MIL

Not trying to discount the unbolded teams either because we've lost to all 3 of them. This will not be an easy stretch as we aim for that 1 seed.

Its not the end of the world . We are a better team than last season due to improve depth n chemistry . But the problem I'd the length , athleticism issues are still which could be an issue in the playoffs depending on who we face.

I agree with this. An athletic 4/5 off the bench would really help. Despite being shorter, I like KJ Martin as a very realistic, ideal option for us at the deadline. He's like a Melton in a sense that he plays bigger than his height. He plays above the rim, he can hit an open three, he can defend the 3,4,5 positions. I like Chris Boucher (I keep saying that), but obviously Toronto is going to want to fleece whoever they trade with so I imagine Boucher, (while a perfect fit) isn't going to be an option. That leaves us dealing with Houston for KJ Martin and I really like the idea of him being here, coming off the bench and providing energy for us. I know we need to get a bit longer in the frontcourt, but I think Morey should take what he can get and if Martin is an option, then we should jump on it. Other names I like if they don't cost too much, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jalen McDaniels, Bamba, Olynyk. There's a bunch of potential help out there for us. Morey just has to find a way to make it happen.

This is exactly the kind of game that shows you how this team is likely to function in a seven-game playoff series against one of the best teams in the league. Coming off an adrenaline-filled win against a great team in Denver, they come out and lay an egg against Orlando. This is no different from the past few seasons of second-round playoff series in which intensity waxed and waned and ultimately cost the team those series. At some point they're going to have to develop the player leadership necessary to become intolerant of those kinds of games.

This is what happens when you disconnect. They thought that the game was over in the second quarter.
