Welp, we get some much needed rest and practice time. Bad news, we need rest by mid-December.

We were the envy of the NBA for having so many picks and the brightest future, and gave it all up for this guy. This the kind haul that would get you any superstar on the trading block. It was essentially double the deal for Donavon Mitchell :banghead:

I’ve been saying this. We gave up a double Donovan package for an eighth of the player.

I think the coach killed that trade more than anything.. a more creative high IQ coach would get the most out of all this talent.

You can’t tell me if we had Ime or Daigneault, we’d be seeing this. These players are so talented they’re still capable of putting up league leading ORtg and 3pt/FT %’s, But our overall offense is so dull

We had a 101 ORTG that game, they had a 108 ORTG, we were first in the league with a 121 ORTG, they were 17th with a 112.5 ORTG.

I don't want to capitulate on a player who's currently injured, but expecting Mitch back to "save our defense" would be a disservice.

-Knicks brought in OG and Bridges to be the top tier perimeter defenders, and only 1 of them has lived up to that billing.
-Never play drop coverage with KAT at the 5 when a PG has a float game.
-Knicks don't have the depth at the bench like last season (basically, I would play more Hukporti and Dadiet, but I'm not a coach that doesn't give rookies a chance)

I am not saying we have to capitulate but it is still what it is. KaT is very much a Pau Gasol player. The lakers don’t make those great Championship runs if they don’t have Andrew Bynum to put Gasol at PF. I think KaT is a better defender than Pau, but you said it yourself we can’t run drop coverage with KaT on PG’s like Trae, Kyrie, and Donovan Mitchell, but drop coverage is exactly how you stop players like them or at the very least give them a hard time.

If anything be thankful Mitch is on the team healing because if he was not they would have to figure out how to get a player like him. Sims is a great third center but Mitch is dominant as a defensive center and as an offensive rebounder. That’s is exactly what they needed to win this game.

If Mitch comes back healthy talent wise they can win a chip, it takes luck and hard work but there wouldn’t be a hole on the roster to be exploited like this game and they would have the right talent in its prime.

We’d be defending the title, possibly the back to back titles. The Cavs would be on tankathon.

FOH with your flip flopping BS. Brunson did not lose this game. You people are fuggin high. The entire team played like shyt in the 2nd half. The shooting was abysmal and so was the defense. The HC got played.

No single player was responsible for this loss. The team got out hustled and out coached. End of story.

I can guarantee if prime Pau played in today's NBA, he would also get eaten alive by today's PGs.

Drop only works if your center can deter dribble penetration while walling off the rolling center. KAT's not quick enough for those coverages.

I agree but you know what, this fanbase wanted to send hit squads to Randle if he ever had an off night, he’s the team captain, at some point there has to be some accountability for going out there getting you 14 playing lifeless throwing the ball into the stands etc

He's by far my favorite player on this team but let's be honest his effort defensively in the last 3 games has been disgusting. It's one thing when he gets beat in iso situations on the perimeter (I'm fine with that nobody is perfect), but the over helping, not communication on switches, and running into/screening his own teammates in show/recover looks on defense is inexcusable.

Jb's effort defensively is killing us rn. Him, Mikal and Hart have made a habit of letting guys get straight line drives to the rim with the dominant hand all season.

Danny boy would have fleeced the Knicks so bad just like the Gobert trade, it would take over a decade to recover. Good thing they didn't bulge.

The weird contingent of posters that absolve Thibs from any type of blame is crazy. They watched us score 100pts against a bad defense, all while not targeting Trae, and rush to defend him as though there's nothing we could do.

seriously...you beat the hawks by making trae young guard every possession.

And then running a drop vs trae young is wild....you leave Dyson Daniels open and make him beat you.
We literally could've left capela open too. Snyder ran circles around thibs tn with far worse personnel. One coach got the most out of his guys while the other coach is consistently in mudfights even with superior talent on most nights. Not surprising at all.
