and dang, just seeing (prob re-seeing) the Lynx have their pick next draft.

Yikes for the Sky, and the rich get richer in MN.

Sky should have always tried to keep their picks. Lose best scorer and feature Reese as a point forward when you know she has no offensive game.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Last 2 games have been much better, especially offensively. I'll probably never be a fan of the double big starting lineup, but Angel's passing is promising. In general, I like how Marsh wants to play basketball. It's going to take time, though.

I don't think that Twin Towers setup is going to work.

This won’t be popular, but Reese hasn’t been the biggest issue for the Sky. For the most part, she’s done exactly want she was drafted to do. Cordosa on the other hand…..

LSU 2023: 18.6 ppg on 47% shooting.

Sky 2025: 9.1 ppg on 30% shooting.

In a 79-56 loss to a Clarkless Indiana team she was 2-7 0-0 from 3 0-0 from the line for 4 points with 3 TOVs and -20 +/-. She is the Doug McDermott of the WNBA. Star name... Average talent.

Like I said, I knew it wouldn’t be popular. But the reason that Reese fell to 7 was because there were questions about how well her offense would translate to the WNBA. Her defense and rebounding have both been fine for the most part. On this level, Reese never projected as a number one option or even a number 2 option for that matter. If you’re going to point out +/-, you may want to take a look at everyone’s +/- numbers. When you play as many minutes as she did in a blowout loss, your +/- numbers are bound to suffer. The team around her has been flat out terrible and anyone that actually watches these games will confirm that.

Back to Cordosa though, where in blue hell has she been? Sure, she’ll occasionally pop for the 18/10 game on good shooting. But this young lady has generally been invisible and it’s not because her teammates aren’t looking for her. She WAS drafted for her offensive prowess and she just hasn’t delivered it. You add to it the fact that we ditched our two best scoring options from last season and what you’ve seen is what you get. A team that is decent defensively but downright terrible offensively.

Not a Sky fan so I don't watch them often, but seems like they need to make more of an effort to get her the ball.

Last year, that was true. This year she has been a disaster. Never mind All Star status; she hasn't even been starter material.

There’s no doubt that there’s been a steep fall off this season for Reese offensively. She will need to be better and there’s really no two ways about that.

However, at least with Reese, you can attribute some of her offensive struggles to having to learn a new role within the offense as she is now being asked to play more of a point forward role. Her shooting as been abysmal. But that’s really the extent if her failure. She’s doing everything else at a pretty high level but you’d never notice it just by looking at the +/- because she logs a lot of minutes in what have been a lot of blow out losses. So then you ask, WHY are the Sky being blown out so often? The answers are as follows:

- No semblance of a consistent shooter

- A head coach that doesn’t seem to know how to use what little talent he does have

- High turnover rate

- No consistent low post threat, which is really damning considering issue number 1

Now, I’m not saying that Reese doesn’t have a part in all of this. But the make up of this team is putrid and I honestly feel (having watched every game so far) that the Sky hurt her more than she hurts the Sky.

Yeah, I agree with all of this. Reese hasn't shot well. We know that, but her play has been a symptom of bigger issues. The team lacks talent, has poor construction, and terrible gameplanning. I have no faith in the vision of this FO currently. You see the changes a team like the Fever made this summer in comparison to us trading Atkins and signing a 40 year old Vandersloot

Yeah, I don't understand that move. Chennedy does seem to be a jerk. But whatever. Is this year's Sky team better off due to "team chemistry" after jettisoning its best scorer? Umm nope, it is not.

A safe but nonetheless correct prediction. At least Reese made her shots, although the point forward concept remains, ahem, questionable.

I still dont understand why she was dropped. Its obviously not her talent. She would be the best player on the team. Both last year and this year.
