Honestly, don’t see how Giannis deal is going to work for us. We have a good team and it is built off chemistry. I think we are better trying to get involved as a third team and take whatever piece that is sent that Milwaukee rather swap for youth instead.
Bam and D white are the two types of guys I would look to trade for to push us to the top.
If Jakob, RJ, combo of Dick, Ochai, Mogbo, Walter and first round picks can get it done we should explore.

Why would Bucks want that?... the picks are all 25+... plus old dudes... horrible ... lol
Rockets have bkn, phx dallas picks
Plus in 5-7 years stuff can happen, see bucks who traded all those pick years ago with a youngish Giannis.
Ah, those other picks would be enticing ...
They are still not trading Giannis without getting sengun or Thompson back.

Trading for Sabonis would be my 13th reason. I'm not fond of trading for Giannis but at least he plays defense and demonstrably contributes to winning.

I don't think there is any possible trade the Knicks can make to acquire Giannis.JB7 wrote:He's going to the Knicks.
The Turner signing was done specifically so they could package him with Giannis. He is the perfect compliment at C next to Giannis.
It will probably be a trade of front courts between both teams:
- Giannis, Turner & Kuzma to the Knicks
- Towns, OG & Robinson to the Bucks (and maybe Miles McBride?)
Turner's trade restriction is lifted Dec. 15th or 16th.
As a first apron team, the Knicks cannot take back more than they send out in a trade. And the Bucks can only take back $125,000 or so more than they send out in a trade. There is no combination of contracts on the two teams that satisfy those two stipulations.
Giannis' contract is $54.125-million. Brunson is $34.9-million. The Knicks would have to send out another $19-million+ in contracts, but not too much more because Milwaukee cannot accept too much, and they don't have the roster spot to accept an extra player.
And all of that is before you even start talking about a trade where player values make sense for both teams. Adding a 3rd or 4th team just gets more complicated.

Rockets don't want to give up Amen or Sengun
Spurs don't want to give up Castle or Harper
OKC won't even bother (21-1)
This leaves Knicks, Raptors, Lakers. Warriors, Cavs, Miami

Bam is a Heat lifer who embodies their culture. No drama, always professional, keeps himself in shape, very coachable, and respects their Mafia hierarchy. That's before getting into the fact they have no reason to move him....amassed DPOY votes in each of the last 6 years, 3x All-Star, 5 time All-Defensive.
I'd be stunned if they ever moved him.

Other tidbits....Giannis cannot be extended until October 1st, 2026. At that point he can sign a 4-year deal that will be approximately 285 million. Yikes. I am not sure his game is going to age gracefully. He is also injured a lot, including missing games in 5 of the last 6 playoffs.

Trading for Giannis is a win now trade and the Raptors are not ready to win now.
I'm still skeptical that he even asked for a trade.

Aren't the Bucks under the salary cap by almost $22M? I think the Bucks can absorb some money, at least according to Spotrac.
I don't think the Bucks are getting equivalent value, partly because Giannis only has 1 more season before he is a FA. Also, I think Giannis will pick his destination, and that seems to be NY. Staying in the East will guarantee his dominance over the next few seasons, and the New York market is the big market Giannis seems to want.
The only other team that might be in the running is the Lakers, and I don't see them offering Reaves again, after the season he is having.
The Spurs have the assets to make a move, but it doesn't make sense for them to make that all in play, when Wemby is still so young. Also, I don't know that Giannis will want to be in San Antonio, or the West in general. Same goes for Houston. They also have a decent young core, and why sacrifice that for maybe 1 or 2 more years of Durant & Giannis.

Raps being the 3rd team in the deal to get a OG or Bridges would be sweet.
Does some combination of RJ/Dick/Mogbo/Jakobe/2026 1st get it done?

OG costs too much and bridges doesn’t take us up a level. If we are the third team I would focus on shoring depth etc

Agreed with OG/Bridges costing too much.
Might be interested in Turner if he's dealt but would mean giving up one of IQ/RJ.
Chances are we just make small trades to acquire a backup C and duck the tax.

Turners been exposed in Milwaukee I think. He’s supposed to be the best complement to Giannis and it’s not really working out. And we already have Mamu. A rim running big is what we need.
As it is a reliable backup 2 is what we really need. I’m content to let this season pass with Mamu CMB battle man the forward and center positions.

Re: OT: Giannis / Bucks Trade Coming?
I honestly think Silver is setting up a LAL-MIL trade by propping up AR with this insane whistle. Dude is getting a more generous whistle than prime LeBron. People joked about how the Lakers would trade Rui and AR for Giannis in the off-season. But I think it actually might happen now.
Then AR will instantly regress to the player he always was because the directive to send him to the line 20 times a game will end.

The salary cap is $154,647,000.
