Unless we're getting Porzingis or Anthony Davis, I feel Ainge is keeping it and grabbing Fultz.
He also grabs Blake Griffin or Hayward to boot in free agency.

Marcellus Fultz would be a nice fit.
Damn autocorrect!

Offensively Russell can work as a SG, the kid can shoot the rock, but defensively it will be a mess. He is too lackadaisical and lacks heart to play defense. I would guess Lakers likely move out Clarkson, Russell and try to attach bad contracts like Deng/Mozgov so they can be players in 2018 FA to chase PG13.
I've seen Ball in person in HS/AAU and can't say enough about his passing, confidence, leadership, BBIQ, court awareness. Despite all that I still believe Fultz, Jackson, Tatum and Fox (maybe Monk too) potentially have higher NBA ceilings.
As for Lavar..no comment. Will say that yes he is as douchey in rl as he portends on tv.
I'll say this for Lonzo- if he can be this diplomatic with his Dad, he'll be a great teammate. Probably the only guy who could get along with Cousins.

Since I don't want to wade through 80 pages of material, I was wondering if someone could tell me if this Celtics board favors Fultz, Ball, or someone else (Jackson, Fox, Markkanen, etc)? The Lakers board is pretty split on the different guys, and is by no means all-in on Lonzo Ball.

If I was LA I'd pretend to be paranoid Boston might take Ball. If Boston takes the bait try to "make sure you get Ball" by offering small assets and then turn around and take Fultz instead with the number one pick.

GMs are mad their teams have sucked ass for years and Ainge just swoops in while playing in the ECF and takes what their one only hope was...
Ahh well. Sucks for them
I suspect it's more the Lakers than us. Lakers had over 53% chance of losing their pick right as they were the 3rd worst team in the league, they moved up instead. Noone should be mad at us, we had the best chance of winning it anyways, we just didn't move.

I could be ok with Blake, solves a few issues, but gut says he stays home in LA.

Just wondering what we're doing with 3 second round draft picks. Doesn't look like the euro pool is deep for stashing. Can't imagine we'll move up and get another 1st rd pick trying to save precious cap.

Filler, sweetener for any trade IMO.

We need size. At one point Green I think was the biggest guy on the floor. Stevens was of course desperate. I could see us trying for Griffin. I would pass on Hayward in favor of size.

If we trade our picks I going to be furious. We are not beating Lebron in the next 4-5 year

Exactly. I might disagree about your length. I''d give it perhaps a year or two less. Or even if it takes 4-5 years set it up so when we climb the mountain we stay on top for a while. Hows a decade sound? A nice round 10 years of dominance like our football organization.

I just had a thought. Why is it that Lonzo is getting so much hype and Markelle isn't getting anything of note? Everywhere I hear, it's Lonzo is transformative. Lonzo will be a superstar. Etc etc. Then some say Fultz is clear cut the best. But what's up with all the Lonzo superlatives? Nothing on Fultz anywhere near as much.

I think it has to do with marketing + Lonzo has been in the picture for a while now thanks to his dad, also I think that him being Laker-bound has something to do with it, everything that happens around LA/NYK seems to receive this kind of hype.

As mentioned by others in some threads, Markelle is more lowkey and quiet guy. Honestly his profile is a better fit here imo.

Fultz and considering what Danny said, I think for now he's leaning towards Fultz. He said we need more scoring, shot creating, which is exactly what Fultz does. To add to it, Fultz is the best pick'n'roll PG in the draft, our offense resolves around p'n'r. I don't want any part of ball, period. I wouldn't overreact if we picked Jackson or even Tatum, as I wrote up there, I don't think Ball's game translated too well into the NBA. This ain't highschool.

I would flip my table and shout at my dog if Ainge takes Jax or Tat over Fultz.
No brainer pick here.

I really don't understand how Fultz is such a no brainer. His team was G-d Awful. I don't care what you guys say about his teammates, if you put Lebron or MJ on any of these teams at age 19 they are winning more games. The guy doesn't look like a winner.
"I have conflicted feelings right now. I mean its great and all, and no way I'd change it, but does anyone else kinda feel that we got luckier than we deserved to get? It almost feels like we're the benefactor of some NBA conspiracy."

1) Go watch a full Washington game. His team was TERRIBLE. They likely do not have anyone else who will play professional basketball. Anywhere.
2) His coach was terrible. So terrible that, despite landing the #1 overall recruit [and widely seen as a prospect above Fultz] next year, they still fired him.
Romar insisted on playing 2 traditional bigs despite the overwhelming statistical evidence that it was killing their team and the qualitative observation that Fultz would be best playing in space.
3) Teams who played Washington had one goal on defense-- stop Fultz. He was trapped like playoff IT every single game. And he still put up 24-6-6 on 56% TS. In a system that was designed to work against him.
4) When evaluating him, I prefer to project him outward. In the NBA, where defenses cant just park bigs in the paint, on a team where bigs live on the perimeter, Fultz will be electric. I have 0 doubts that he will be considered a future superstar by the end of next year. He's too talented and joining a team with the perfect system for him. All the stars have aligned.
