I'd take Crowder if we miss on Porter. Crowder and RHJ would not be fun for opposing wings.

I've come to the conclusion that if Washington matches Porters deal, we should follow in Phillys footsteps and sign veterans to large one year deals like Erasan Illyasova, Rudy Gay, Tony Allen etc. so that we can maintain as much cap space as possible for next offseason when the Restricted free agent pool is fantastic. Best case scenario we might even be able to sign two Max players if our young guys prove that they're ready for the spotlight but this is definitely a long shot. However, I assume teams are gonna have even less cap space next summer and the blood bath in the West is eventually going to encourage players to migrate back to the east. Also with the current roster we will have space for 2 max offers even if Lin opts in or potentially 3 if we can move Andrew Nicholsons deal and Lin opts out.

Some fantastic RFAs next off season (which we could have the space to bid for multiple at the same time):
Wiggins (unlikely)
Parker (good risk)
Embiid (pipe dream)
Aaron Gordon
Julius Randle
Dante Exum
Marcus Smart
Gary Harris
Rodney Hood

Max UFAs (I'll admit that all are unlikely to sign):
Lebron James
Russell Westbrook
Paul George
Demarcus Cousins
DeAndre Jordan
Chris Paul
Isaiah Thomas
Brook Lopez (For old times sake).

Keeping space for potentially having one of those RFAs or even the very outside chance of forming a super team with our potentially 80 mill in cap space is much better than giving long term deals to guy's like Jamychael Green, Kelly Olynyk, KCP, THJ or any of the other C to B level NBA talents.

We need to get in on that Jae Crowder salary dump. I could give a rats ass about Otto Porter

Marks get in on this!! I don't care if it helps Boston landing Crowder would be huge

I can't see ainge dealing any players of value to us, thus worsening our pick. They have pretty much every other club to work with.

Any GM who sends out an asset in a salary dump is a moron.

While acquiring Porter would be a great addition, I've pulled back on the notion of giving him a max deal. It's nice for Marks to take a swing, but this will be another miss like the last steal a RFA attempt. I just hope during this long process Marks has put some other pieces together to really strengthen the roster and not putting all his eggs in one basket to acquire Otto Porter.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

Smart for Utah, keep the train rolling.

I wonder what happens next....an offer to KCP from us? Washington seems like they're going to cap hell themselves.

Olynyk (4/54)
Alan Williams (30/3)

Then we need another swingman still.

There are so many things that concern me with KCP, even at Allen Crabbe money, which Detroit would obviously match.

Get the feeling Detroit will let him walk for anything over high 80's though and that's what scares me. Can only hope that the Detroit environment and his teammates have effected his play a lot, but that's a giant leap of faith.

His home/road splits were crazy. At home pretty damn solid, on the road, just completely gross.

And he sounds like such a bumpkin in interviews. Like to the point he sounds basketball dumb and uncoachable. Makes you hope he's actually just a dumb deep southern jock who understands the **** out of basketball and not Forest Gump naturally lucky at it.

And it'd be nice to know more about the DUI. Like is it an isolated young and dumb mistake? Or is he an alcoholic and that's why his home/road splits are so crazy, he's getting straight sauced on the road and it effects his game? Conspiracy theory sure, but a legitimate question.

Also, does this team need another wing who doesn't get to the line?

He's kind of your standard Youtube killer. Looks like an assassin in his highlights, but on the stat sheet and when you watch him play, you're like what the hell man? Then again, who watches a lot of Detroit lately? So maybe I've caught him on some bad nights?

Idk, he's super risky. In Markinlangson we trust.

Nice list

I like

Parker - will be most interesting RFA , just a short time back from his injury
Aaron Gordon

With below you would have some overlap with DAR and LeVert but I like these players too

Dante Exum
Marcus Smart
Gary Harris

The other players seem extremely unlikely -- like not within realm of possibility

A lot cheaper than rumored/expected. Also a good comparison for RHJ's value on the market. RHJ is much better offensively but still, Roberson is the better defender.

Yea I agree with everything you said except I would throw Randle in the mix as well. However theres always the scenario where players in the west realize that its just to stacked and want to move to the east and form a super team to compete and we'll be the only team thats capable of offering 3 max contracts. Or Lebron could decide the Cavs are never gonna go anywhere and want to form a new super team.

Imagine
Westbrook or Russell
Russel ------ LeVert
LeVert ------ James
George ------ George
Cousins ------ Jordan

Hey after all this suffering we've been through I think we're allowed to dream a little bit no matter how unlikely it is

brook wrote:I hate Olynyk too, but a three-year, 30 million deal, will be interesting for us.

Just I don't understand why Olynyk would be an above average defender and two-way guy, and Jamychal Green not

Said this, I think Grizzlies will retain Green after they lose Zibo and the competition for Olynyk will be strong because he is UFA now.

I really hope we get Porter but I doubt it, if we can't get Otto, then I hope we don't made any offer to KCP and maybe try to get Mirotic.

If we can't get Mirotic as well, we should look any salary dumps. Aldrich would be useful for us at backup center while we wait Jarrett Allen, he has a team option next year (it means he is an expired contract). Aldrich + OKC first x Kilpatrick.

Don't sure about a massive contract like Crabbe, but the pick Blazers must gave to dump him maybe will be in lottery.

Said this, I really have faith in Markinson!

Aldrich + pick makes a lot of sense

If it's the OKC pick, it won't be very good tho

Good news is that RHJ's value is probably even lower than that. We could potentially resign him for 7-8ish.
