Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
Bucks need a dominant ball handler, somebody that can run the half court offense, and have poise under pressure more than we need more shooting IMO. If we could just not turn the ball over so **** much and hit our FTs it would solve 90% of our problems, if Bud's doubles down on his 1 vs 5 iso drive n kick halfcourt offense with Giannis/Khris/Bledsoe/whoever where everybody else just stands out at the 3pt line not moving I'm not sure it's possible to get enough shooting to make up for their loose ass handle and poor passing under pressure. No team is winning the championship when every game they have like 20 turnovers and miss 10+ FTs. Another thing with Bud's offense is I'm not sure how effective those little shooting squares are, at first it seemed to help but now I think it makes it easier to shut down the spots our guys like to shoot from. I am really struggling to think who could move the needle on this issue other than CP3, he's the only guy that might be able to overcome the shortcomings of Bud ball which I am increasingly thinking is similar to D'Antoni who could never get over the hump in the playoffs.

Idk, I think the letter 'r' is super overrated but I can see how one would think that.

Using Bledsoe's money for a shooter is what I have been harping on for the last 1.5 years. Glad to see the Bucks support this logic and it doesn't surprise me that they are.
This can work, especially with a 3 team trade.

It can't be Bledsoe to the Kings for Bogdan.
Please, everyone familiarize yourselves with the BYC. As said, we likely need a 3rd team willing to absorb Bled, ideally sending some kind of value to route to SAC. Knicks make a lot of sense.

There are some ways to work out a deal for Bogdan without the need of including a third team. I'll go in detail when I'm not on mobile. Didn't initially think about it but this makes a deal more likely.

While Bogdan is the better overall player, I think Hield is a better fit in the offense (takes and makes a lot of threes off the dribble) and probably costs significantly less to acquire.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
The BYC rules which apply in a S&T deal are as follow:
Bogdan's case is interesting because despite being late first round pick on a rookie contract his previous salary is significant and thus the salary figure the Kings can take back is rather stable compared to his possible starting salary.
Bogdan's last season salary figure was $8,529,386. I'll go into different cases and explain on the fly what it means.
Case 1: Bogdan's starting salary with the Bucks is $17,058,772 (-X*)
$8,529,386 + $5m = $13,529,386 } Maximum of salary the Kings can take back
$17,058,772 (-X*) - $5m = $12,058,772 (-X*) } Minimum of salary the Bucks have to send out
A trade has to satisfy both brackets. As you see, there is a tiny overlap. The overlap increases the lower Bogdan's starting salary gets but we'll come back to that.
Let's look at the players we could be sending out and then go into combinations that satisfy both cases:
Brook Lopez $12,697,675
George Hill $9,590,602
Ersan Illyasova $7,000,000
Robin Lopez $5,005,350
DJ Wilson $4,548,280
Donte DiVincenco $3,044,160
#24 Pick Cap Hold $2,351,280
Thanasis Antetokounmpo $1,701,593
Brook works for any realistic X*, Ersan + Robin work for X* > ~$50,000 and so forth.
Case 2: Bogdan's starting salary with the Bucks is $17,058,772 (+X*)
($17,058,772 (+X*) / 2 + $5m = $13,529,386 (+0.5X*) } Maximum of salary the Kings can take back
$17,058,772 (+X*) - $5m = $12,058,772 (+X*) } Minimum of salary the Bucks have to send out
Again a trade has to satisfy both brackets. There's still an overlap, but the higher X* becomes, the more the lower boundary condition grows respective to the upper boundary condition. We might be able to figure out trades that work, but it gets harder and harder and for X* > $2,941,228 no theorectical deal can be found.
Conclusion:
If you want to include Bledsoe in a trade, you'd need a third team. But Brook Lopez for Bogdan S&T satisfies the BYC for a variety of starting salaries. Ersan + Robin Lopez/DJ works for a starting salary of under $17m/$16.5m respectively, Hill + Donte satisfies the BYC for a variety of starting salaries and if we're getting under $15m there are a lot of thinkable shenanigans potentially even including the cap hold of our pick.
If a team re-signs its Larry Bird or Early Bird free agent in order to trade the player in a sign-and-trade transaction, the player's new salary is greater than the minimum, he receives a raise greater than 20%, and the team is at or above the cap immediately after the signing1, then the player's outgoing salary for trade purposes is either his previous salary or 50% of his new salary, whichever is greater. The team receiving the player always uses his new salary.
Bogdan's case is interesting because despite being late first round pick on a rookie contract his previous salary is significant and thus the salary figure the Kings can take back is rather stable compared to his possible starting salary.

Hield has a very high cap figure. Would need Bledsoe + just to match him. He has a bunch of unlikely incentives in his contract which might have turned likely but we're looking at at least $25m.

FWIW Ersan and Bled for Cory Joseph and S&T Bogdan would allow us to offer a 1st year starting salary up to 17.2m. It's complicated but it's not that hard.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
If Giannis can get Bogdan to request to be traded to Milwaukee, then that should change the value game a bit.
Ersan + DJ + MKE '24 1st (lottery protected) for Bogdan ($16M starting)
I hope that would get it done. As LuessiT said, there are a few different ways to skin the BYC cat. I would avoid using Brook to make money work though.

Taking back Joseph seems like a dream scenario for SAC. He's pretty bad, but I'd still probably do it.

Corey is only partially guaranteed @ 2.4m. If the Kings are fine to include him (and we cut him in the process) the range of possible deals increases a lot. Still no Bledsoe unless we fully guarantee it or Bogdan makes over $18.9m.
I like simple trades with as few moving pieces as possible so if we want to keep it simple,
Bledsoe for Bojan S&T 18.9m + Corey Joseph (immediately cut/traded with 2 2nds)

Problem I see is they'd essentially be paying 16M for a number 24 pick. DJ is useless. Ersan is fine but not sure they'd want or see being able to flip him for value. SAC would be way better just not getting involved. Probably need to come up with some other value to them by giving a player they'd want or taking back bad salary somehow. Or maybe get a 3rd team in somehow to reroute a contract into their cap space so SAC doesn't take on the whole amount.

Well, he's obviously going to get paid - not because that's what he wants - but because he's a damn good player, and everyone knows he's a damn good player.

They would be paying $11.5M, for one season, for a future 1st and a flyer on a local kid in DJ, rather than matching a 4/$64M Bogdan deal.

You would cut him upon arrival? I guess if you think he's wasted space, but just eating $15M makes me uneasy. I'd just keep him for PG depth and then waive him next year.

Maybe something like Bled and Ersan to the Knicks, Randle to the Kings, Joseph and Bogdan to the Bucks.

No you eat 2.4m. He's partially guaranteed and is treated like that in a trade unless you fully guarantee it (which we won't have to at the above figure).
