That and a true 2nd star.

He has enough help. Productive frontcourt, decent guards and good all around team defense. A real number one option would make this team a top 4 seed.

Jazz are going to be a tough out, especially if they keep hitting their threes.

Jazz with 17 made 3s, right at their season average. Jazz have scored 120+ ppg in each of the last 3 games.

Memphis hasn't been able to slow them down really.

Really dumb possession on Mitch's part as he could've passed it back to Bojan or Conley. I know he's a great player, but you gotta be smarter than that and he allowed himself to get triple teamed. Bad move on his part but luckily for him the Grizzlies inexperience did them in again.

Big props to Gobert for nailing his FT shots. Jazz look more deadly with Bojan out there and they'll finish it off in game 5. Either way gotta give Memphis their props as they've done a nice job and will use this as an opportunity to get better for the future.

It's insane that Snyder and Jenkins came from the Spurs coaching staff in the g-league and then joined Budenholzer and Atkinson in Atlanta before going on their ways to become head coaches elsewhere. That Pop coaching tree spreading it's branches everywhere.

If that dude starts hitting off the bounce 3s he’s gonna be a perennial all star

Memphis needs a 2nd option, Brooks is too much of a hot head. The problem is Memphis is too good to get into the lotto.
Ingles is cooked.

The Griz may not be winning games but I think they're winning a lot of respect. Even when they're outmatched they never get scared.

Just a reminder: The Jazz were up 3-1 last year, too.

Mitchell shoots too much. Have said it numerous times but it'll be the team's downfall.

Bogdanovic should be shooting more than 10 shots, Ingles, one of the best 3pt shooters should be attempting more than 4 total field goals.

Mitchell shoots the team out of rhythm. He is their best player but he thinks he is better than he really is.

He's still working his way back to pre-injury form. They're going to give him a little latitude.

You need a first option before you start questioning your second options. Ja needs to prove that he is ready to take the next step. His efficiency is very poor and is worse than last year. Replace Ja with Luka Doncic and this is a championship contender

That doesn't provide a lot of optimism when that was that same narrative given for Grit and Grind era Grizz

Their guards play with a lot of energy -- Ja, Grayson, Melton, Brooks, they all play hard all game. It's like they never take a play off.

He has been a ballhog at various times in his career. This has nothing to do with it.

He thinks the team needs him to score 50. He thinks this will silence his critics. He thinks he needs to score more than the opponent's best team.

He is also too short, regardless of his long arms and needs to stop with his premeditated euro steps and junk he then throws up at the rim.

Brooks is a good player and all, but man is he dumb (or the kind word would be overly aggressive) when it comes to fouls.

Yeah they are showing a lot of promise. They are maybe not better yet but they seem to be learning. Nice to see from a young team.

The Grit and Grind era grizzlies were winning a lot. Made the WCF once and were always a tough o battle with OKC and LAC

That team was more than just about respect. Teams didn’t wanna face them and their defense

I’m trying to see it like Gobert’s outbursts. These guys live off emotion and sometimes that’s not good.

Gobert had a time when the refs were gonna just black list him. He’s still freaking out just a lot less

Brooks can learn and probably will since nobody is going to fail to dump on him for those plays.

He could be a real asset once he and his coaching figure out a role he can stick with

Boy that is not what I took away from this game. Wouldn't be surprised if Memphis blows out Utah in Game 4 and then all the pressure will be on Utah in Game 5. I have a hunch this series will end like it started. With a Memphis win.
