If this happened, which I doubt, I can't wait to read how pissed Pistons fans are when they don't get the BKN17 pick/what they demanded

How does the Cousins trade impact Drummond's value? I'm not sure I'm willing to move any of the brooklyn picks or jaylen brown for him.

In: Drummond, Bogut

Out: Zeller, Johnson

Can the world be any better a place right now for C's fans if this happens??

14 rebounds per game. Our trouble would be over.

Make it happen Danny!

And yes, Drummond is worth at least one of the BKN picks. He is 23 and under contract for several years

Who runs the Pistons basketball operations? Is it still a moron like Dumars? Maybe we can snag Drummond with Bradley/Celtics 2018 or something.

Don't see Ainge giving away the Nets picks for a player of his caliber so I'm guessing it'll be a fleecing if it happens.

I believe SVG has control over that.

This is what I was wondering. How would anyone know that? Followers aren't sorted that way.

Social media follows is such a funny sidelight to trade rumors. Love it.

These guys are media savvy, could just be messing with us like Kyrie talking about the earth's flatness.

But I'd be totally on board with Drummond, up to including BKN 18 - but it might not take that - Zizic, Yabu, something else.

SVG is clearly ready to bail on his rebuilding plan - if they get Hezonja and maybe Vuc from Orlando for Jackson, that's a nice move.

I think he's scapegoating Drummond for things not working out- the guy's still only 23 - won't be 24 until August. (Hield turns 24 in December). He'd fit our old vet lineup and your youth lineup.

The issues for SVG were that Drummond hasn't been defending the way he wants to - was apparently excelling at pick and roll D in pre-season, but hangs back at the rim now. Can't shoot, can't shoot free throws, and he'd be potentially a great pick and roll player with IT, but in terms of his own low-post scoring, it's still clunky and under development.

He's still twice as good as Deandre Jordan was at 23, and I think he's coachable, especially by Brad. I'm sure he passes the character test. He's just not coachable by Stan.

If that were true, why would the Pistons trade him? Like you said, he's young and under contract. You don't trade away young players who are locked in for years if they have the value of a potential number 1 pick in the Draft. Especially considering that pick can just as easily fall to 4.

I thought it was understood that any post with an "It's happening" phrase attached was the same as using green font. 8-)

His FT% is so bad, though. Like, ridiculously bad. He's at 38% for his career and 43% for the season. Even worse than Rondo. :-?

Well that´s why he´s on the block. But...it´s worth it. Imagine Horford and Drummond. Really awesome frontcourt

Brad always goes small with 3 guards to end games. He'd never be on the floor, except maybe a defensive sub after a timeout.

So he's a good fit age-wise, but he's not a capable player. I agree with that. Detroit is a better rebounding team when Drummond is off, they score more efficiently when he's off, defend better when he's off and his post touches are Dwight Howard-esque. I think he's massively overrated.

Would trade him for Tyler Zeller though.

Because Stan's about to f*ck up. Coach/GM combos rarely work - it's too easy to get frustrated with players, or to overrate your own coaching impact, like, 'If I could just get a guy who can defend the pick and roll, we'd win all the time'.

The BKN18 pick was always earmarked for a big man. I'd be okay if it turned into Drummond.

Bar Fight wrote:Drummond is not worth Nets picks at all. Was he even an all star this year?

nope not this year, though his numbers are are a about the same as last year when he was an all-star. he is average 14 points and 14 boards and 1.2 blocks. He is 23 years old and locked up on a long term deal (3 more years plus a PO) that will be far below max money over the next few years.

one could certainly argue that he is worth a Nets picks...but could also argue that would be a bad investment.
but is he a dinosaur in the league now. No floor spacing at all, under 50% from the line.

seems like he could fit well in our rotation with guys like Horford and Olynyk that do spread the floor and could use the rebounding.

I would agree at this point, giving up a Nets pick is a risky move for him.
