I want Alan Williams, a stretch 4/5 and a 3 and D wing.

I wouldn't mind the 1 year deals to vets if Porter and some of the other salary dump scenarios don't materialize. Here's how I'd prioritize everything based on known rumors:

plan A - Porter. Most upside, very good fit.
plan B - Crowder. Another really good fit, limited upside but great contract. Better player than KCP at 1/4 the price.
plan C - Crabbe with a 1st round pick attached. I'd also try to get a little greedy and insist they take back Nicholson. My ideal trade would be Skil + Nicholson for Crabbe and a 2018 1st with reasonable protection (no more than top 10).
plan D - Faried. Not the best fit in the world but has a tough mentality that would just fit real well at a reasonable contract. Basically a much better version of Booker. I imagine we could get him for a Hamilton dump.
plan E - I guess at this point we'd be value hunting for either a stretch 4 or a 3&D wing. Olynyk could be a fit if he's still there. Possibly Green, but don't forget he was in the Spurs org with Marks, if he was high on him he'd have probably gone after him quickly. Simmons and Illyasova could fit. Or maybe we say f it and just go balls out for KCP even though he's not the first choice.

Anyway, with any of the above and some minor maneuvering we should still have enough to add another via FA in one of the next 2 years, with Russell and Rondae getting their raises with the money saved as Nicholson & Mozgov get off the books.

I don't get all the negativity around signing Porter, he's 1 year older than Levert and people are losing their minds over him

When we sign somebody such as Dinwiddie on a minimum deal all the talk is about Kennys player development and how it could work

Offer sheet to Porter who has proven he can play and is still young with room for development and all the talk is that we don't want him

I get that a max is well and truly over paying him but we do need young talent, I think it's a good aggressive move

We'll know more about RHJ's value at when extensions are up this time next year. $10M is the bare minimum, if he continues to develop his price will only rise.

I'm a big fan of Alan Williams and hope the nets can get him on a 4 year, $36 million contract. Suns are rumored to only be offering him 5-6 million per year so hopefully the Nets offer can get it done.

Doesn't look like he shoots threes?

We will not get Crowder or Bradley or any other Celtics player anyways. They are not going to deal with us, because that would take value off their pick.
Even tho I do really like Bradley. I used to think he was highly overrated, when he was injured as a rookie or sophmore and Celtics fans were crying how they would be awesome team with him, but they are not because he is injured. But I have really started to like his game over past few years.

Would you mind posting this again 15 times a day for the rest of the summer?

When the Celtics don't trade us Crowder, I already know Marks is gonna get burried on this site for not being able to fleece Ainge.

Williams doesn't. I think this is his wish list for the rest of the off-season, those 3 players

i hope we can bring a player who is both good on offense and defense, not just focus on offense or defense. Lets see our last year's +/-stats:
the good seven :
kj McDaniels -1.0 ( good defend and average shooting 3P% 34)
acy -1.0 ( good defend and good shooting 3P% 43.4)
whitehead -1.6 ( great defend and bad shooting 3P% 29.5 )
levert -1.6 ( good defend and average shooting 3P% 32.1)
lopez -2.1 ( average defend and average shooting 3P% 34.6)
jeremy -2.3 ( good defend and good shooting 3P% 37.2)
dinwiddie -2.3 ( good defend and good shooting FG% 44.4 , 3P% 37.6)

others:
foye -3.0 ( bad defend and average shooting 3P% 33)
kilpatrick -3.2 ( bad defend and average shooting 3P% 34.1)
rhj -3.4 ( good defend and bad shooting 3P% 22.4)
hamilton -4.5 (bad defend and bad shooting 3P% 30.6)
booker -4.7 ( good defend and average shooting 3P% 32.1)
Bogdanovic -5.3 ( bad defend and good shooting 3p% 35.7)
harris -5.5 ( bad defend and good shooting 3P% 38.5)

you can see if players who were bad defense or bad shooting , he hurt the team.

then let see Lakers's guard stats:
nwaba 0.6
ennis 2.4
young -3.5
clarkson -5.1
russell -5.7

What problem with Russell was on court -5.7 ? but Nwaba and Ennis who play 17-20 min each game were 0.6 and 2.4. It all about the defense . Russell is the best scorer of Lakers, but he is the worst defender of Lakers, with his slow foot , he can't drive, he can't defend, so he was moved to the sg position on the end of the season, but it was still a bad idea, Lakers win the last three games of the season, but Russell's +/- were -9/-5/-2 , he was still a negative one. Then you understand why Lakers willing to trade Russell, everyone think this trade is a steal .. but i think it is a trap...

Now we bring Russell and he will be a sg with Lin , i don't think he will improve his bad defense in two or three years , so i hope Marks will bring someone who can shoot and defend to replace RHJ, RHJ cant shoot is also a problem to the motion offense, we need someone who is good at both defend and shooting ......

If we miss Porter, just grab Olynyk, Williams or Green, either Simmons at 10-12 a year and bring back KJ if you don't get Simmons.

Gurards: Lin, DLo, Dinwiddie, Whitehead, Goodwin

Swingmen: LeVert, Harris, KJ/Simmons Wiley

Frontcourt: RHJ, Olynyk, (Green/Williams) Mosgov Allen Acy

Starting 5: Lin/DLo/LeVert/(Green/RHJ)*/Olynyk

*if we sign Green he starts, if we sign Williams RHJ starts

Maybe add another 3 pt shooter and Ibeh on a 2 way. Call it an off season.

I hope Wizards make it known at midnight if they are matching or not so we can move on.

followed by Olynyk.

If we can't get either of those, then just be patient. *Not sure what the financial implications are of being way under the cap, do we need to try to reach the cap floor?

If the Wiz don't match, I think our plan should be hoard cap space for teams that will/already are freaking out about the tax for this year and next. Cap space will be at a premium, as teams have cooled on their spending big time after last summer. Teams like Portland, Washington, GS, Cleveland, Boston, Toronto are going to have massive tax bills and other teams won't have cap space to pursue 2018 free agents.

I'm okay with JaMychael Green or KO are a reasonable price, but I think we can get tremendous value for our cap space between now and next summer.

If we get Porter, Booker and Hamilton come off the books and Lin opts out, we'll still have about max next summer with the rising cap as long as they don't spend another dime. Definitely rookie max+.

Agreed. Also to keep open max space for next summer.

Unless Marks knows something that we don't, this seems like a major waste of time.
