Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
The Timberwolves board is at another level of delusion. They really think Malik Beasley who is 1 dust up with the law away from being out of the league and old man Rubio is a fair baseline for Simmons.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
I don't post on here very often but I read posts on here almost every day. I heard this trade rumor regarding Simmons to Golden State and I wanted to get everyone's opinion on it because I think it's a fair trade that will help both teams.
Golden State gets: Ben Simmons and filler
Philly gets: Andrew Wiggins and Golden State picks 7 and 14.
My question is this. If your only option is to accept this trade AS IS or run it back with Simmons this season, would you or would you not accept it.
My initial reaction was to pass before I looked at how well Wiggins played last year and before I really looked at how good some of the players are that will be available at 7 and 14. There is also a possibility that the picks and maybe a young player can be traded for another veteran player like say SGA. After thinking about this, I think I make this trade. What say you?

Wiggins did not play well last season. He is making 30+ million a year and produced at the level of a 10 million a year player.
I wouldnt touch that contract with a ten foot pole.
If a third team would take Wiggins, Wiseman, 7 and 14 for a star but didnt want Simmons for said star then I would do that. Otherwise I would take pretry much any offer over the Warriors one.
CJ Mcollum for Ben or even Brogdon and 13th for Ben are better deals.
Wiggins stinks. Wiseman is probably a bust and those picks are nothing special.

A star doesnt score 9.9 ppg against a bottom 10 defense while getting hacked to inflate his ppg.

Simmons is not a star, he has the potential to be a star and a superstar too, but he will NEVER be a star. He has wasted potential written all over him.
I understand a minority of our fanbase is not that fond of Embiid, but please, the difference between the two is gigantic.

Black Mage wrote:If rumor are true there are 3-5 natural fit teams for a Simmons trade:
Cavs rumor: Sexton and 3 available.
Why: Sexton and Garland are both undersized guards who struggle defensively with larger guards. Sexton is also due his first extension and Cavs likely see a backcourt of high salary Garland/Sexton as a non-starter.
Why Simmons: Cavs are basically a young non-fully developed Trailblazers. Fitting Simmons next to Garland solves their defensive woes. Garland's range, handling and catch-shoot ability fits nicely with SImmons b/c Simmon's guy can't sag without leaving a step into a jumper opening for Garland.
Trade Package: Sexton & 3. One of Green or Suggs (I prefer Suggs for his refined and mature style of play, Green if we go raw potential). Cavs might balk at this, but we can sweeten the deal by eating K-Love or adding a pick. Sexton can stay or go, if he stays then you can play Suggs or Green next to him or you let those guys grow in experience running the second team while figuring out what Sexton brings.
GSW: Wiseman, Wiggins and 7 and 14.
Why: Dubs want to go all in to maximize Curry's window. Surprised they would want to move Wiseman, but he also likely has a low trade value given his constant injury history even pre-NBA.
Why Simmons: He does fit really well with Steph and Klay, but Draymond presents a problem. I wonder if Draymond could be moved or available over Wiggins.
Trade Package: Wiggins, 7 and future 2-3 picks/swaps (unprotected) beginning in 2024. Either flip 7 for help or use it on Davion to man the PG spot and you just hope he develops fast. Wiggins you see how he fits with Embiid or see if he can be moved later. This is a balance of immediate future while setting the team for a hard and fast reboot if Joel falls apart (as some on here fear).
Kings: Fox.
Why: I have no idea why Fox is available given age and development other than they really love Haliburton and see a future of him, HIeld and Simmons forming a dynamic trio that complement each other well. Plus Kings love doing stupid things and they also can't lure major stars to their team in FA.
Why Simmons: He fits well with Haliburton and Hield.
Trade Package: Fox and maybe 9 for Simmons and future 1st. I think this might have to turn into a straight swap, but if we could steal 9, I would do it as I see an early pick is another asset to flip now or use it to get cheap talent that can develop internally and I like the options between 6-10. I also trust Morey to identify talent given his hits in the past. If Kings wanted to move Bagley, I might bite on that too and take a flyer on him coming off bench in the PF role.
T-Wolves: D'Lo
Why: D'Lo wasn't the solution and couldn't run the team.
Why Simmons: Simmons and KAT fit well, plus they are best buds and the low pressure of Minnesota might help Ben mentally.
Trade Package: D'Lo and Edwards.
Trade intercepted by Indiana: Edwards being rerouted to Indiana for Brogdon to Sixers for Edwards and G-Hill.
Trade intercepted by New Orleans: D'Lo being rerouted to New Orleans in a sign n trade for Lonzo Ball. Or, if a pick or two gets it done you flip D'Lo for Ingram.
Picks likely need to be included, but this one goes beyond my pay grade.
I like the trades in order of Cavs/Kings/GSW/T-Wolves.
Every one of these trades is a huge overpay that will never happen by the teams trading for Simmons. Just ask yourself this question. If you were a fan of these other teams would you make these trades for BEN SIMMONS?

If to Pelicans, get Ingram and Walker back. If Sacramento, get Fox and Wright back.
I keep hearing about Simmons for Ingram trades and it is driving me crazy! I've been a Sixers fan since Dr. J but I am from New Orleans so I am a Pels fan as well. Ingram is part of the core of the team and will only be moved with picks for a star player like Lillard or Beal. Pels will never trade Ingram for Simmons unless it is a gross overpay that they can use to send out for Lillard or Beal. The Pels will not be adding players that can't shoot to add to Bledsoe and Adams who also can't shoot. This would make no sense.
I just had to say that in an attempt to stop the Ingram for Simmons posts.

I thought the Simmons standom would die down after he refused to play for his country multiple times but they are still going strong.

In the second half of the year Wiggins averaged 20/5/5 50% and 41% Yes 7 and 14 are nothing special but it's still 7 and 14 and has a lot of value.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread
Bradley Beal can barely score without a screen. Anyone willing to pay a star package to acquire a guy who can't cook is doing it wrong. Ingram can cook on anyone in the league. He's clearly a far more talented player than Bradley Beal. And he's just as good, if not better, a shooter. There's no real debate IMO.

I never liked Ingram’s game, hard to put my finger on why…
Either way, simmons and zion is an atrocious fit. Neither can shoot, neither can play center defensively

I believe that outside of one troll the debate here isn't Simmons or Embiid, it's whether Simmons or Harris needs to go first.
