Abmas is better than Quinn Cook, Frank from Kansas and looks at least as good as Aaron Holiday coming out.. I think he has a place in the league. Reminds me of Ian Clark a bit but should be a better playmaker

It's the opposite with me for Abmas...I think he is a major boom bust prospect.
His range coupled with his speed/quickness with the ball and already impressive finishing ability makes him almost tailor made for today's league. He scored over length yesterday which was my question mark.
If I'm a playoff team or I have multiple 1sts, I take him no questions asked.

Sure, he's 22 and only 6-2, and he's not gonna be allowed to be so physical in the defense-aversive NBA, but in my eyes the kid is the best backcourt defender in years at the college level, his intensity throughout the games all year long has been incredible, he's got a really quick first step and knows how to use his body and the scoop shot to finish at the rim, he's got a nasty mid-range pull-up jumper, he's shot 46% from 3 this year (a bit less after tonight) and he's an underrated passer. His game has grown so much since his freshman year at Auburn...
I'm not expecting him to be as efficient scoring the ball at the next level, I think he's not a +40% 3-pt shooter from NBA range right now, but he's a hard worker and the foundation is certainly there. He's also not a pure PG, but he can be a better distributor than many combo guards at the pro level. As for his height, it's not ideal, but the dude is a tank and has extremely quick feet and hands, he'll no doubt make an impact defensively at the 1 and 2 spots.
He's definitely not a guy that I would pass on in the 15 to 20 range. I don't care about his age.
he's good but this isn't true, i'd go Tre Jones, Javon Carter and Lu Dort also come to mind.

Suggs is ridiculous, he'd be my #1 player in this class if I wasn't scared **** about his violent movements and his ability to stay healthy and durable long term

definitely rebounds well for a guard is an explosive player but it's tough to know for sure what he is capable of in a higher usage role imo

he's good but this isn't true, i'd go Tre Jones, Javon Carter and Lu Dort also come to mind.
I knew Jevon Carter's name would come up. Closest guy in the last few years, his one-man full-court press style was outstanding. I still think Davion's intensity and versatility at both guard spots is unmatched recently.
Tre Jones was a very good defender but not in the same league as those two, especially when it comes to guarding bigger players. Lu Dortz was great but he only stayed one year at AZ State and IMO he's a better defender now than he was then (he's younger than Mitchell, already in the league, and he could very well be the best pro defender of the bunch when all's said and done, but I'm talking about college).
I think the Pat Bev comparisons for Mitchell are sort of ok... Only if Pat Bev was a better scorer inside, a better passer and not a dirty ****.

Re: 2021 NBA Draft
So Nuggets kind of filled their backcourt. As far as I can see they are in need of SG. Which SGs could drop this year around 23rd draft pick? Which of them do you think would fit Nuggets the best from them all you listed?

Depends on what they're looking for.
If they want another offense-oriented combo guard I think Tre Mann is most definitely going to be in the conversation in the 16-24 pick range. His ability to handle the ball, pass and make shots, and his strong end of the season will put him up there. His ceiling is definitely intriguing.
If they look for a bigger guard that can play 2/3 instead of 1/2 and bring some physicality, a decent option could be Terrence Shannon Jr. He's strong and a good athlete, and while he's not extremely polished he's improved quite a bit this year. I don't see him as a future star but I think he's got enough potential defensively, attacking the basket and probably as a shooter with proper coaching to become a solid role player. He needs to refine his handle a little bit (it's not too bad, I like that he keeps the ball low and close to him for the most part) and become more reliable from outside (he's good enough in catch-and-shoot situations, but you can see he's not a natural, his shooting motion and his release are a bit clunky and slow), but he's got some nice tools to work with. The question though is whether you can get him or a similar guy in the second round, and use your FRP on a guy with more upside, the way the Nuggets have done lately.
Finally, I think Moody will absolutely drop quite a few spots from where he's been projected (and with good reason, he's very raw and his shot selection is awful, though Arkansas' lack of playmaking and ball movement have not helped him as a freshman), and he could be another option if they want a younger guy (still only 18 yo) that maybe they can mold into a good two-way SG with some patience.

Could be interesting the qualification tourneys for Olympia are starting 22th June and end 4th of July.
Prkačin (Croatia), Petrušev (Serbia), Şengün (Turkey), Wagner and Hukporti (Germany) could get a call up wonder if some of these guys will quit the combine.

With Jokic and Murray SG can have lot of open shots, especially how good of a shooter MPJ is and how good Gordon moves. Bigger need would be a defensive oriented SG which doesn't need ball in his hands in the offense that much. The guy which could put in some open shots with great defense is primary need on SG on the Nuggets

Moses Moody really bad a poor showing all tourney long. Looked out of sorts on offense the entire time. I don't think it'll tank his stock but his stock may have taken a hit for folks who may not have seen much of his outside of the tourney.

I have a more refined Josh Richardson (better shooter) as his comp coming out of college. Play style and measurables is eerily similar
For my team (76ers) Jared Butler if he’s there by 29 or so I’d pick up (Filip 2nd rnd, Duarte are also interesting). Some value outside of the 1st rnd even the 10-25 range can be very fluid imo.

sugg has the highest floor and is a much safer version of Rose shouldnt be worried abt health then why not ask the same abt Ja who is even more reckless and does those intentionally?
not a consensus and questionable, but much warranted than Edwards bust pick last yr.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Looking through the draft, there are a lot of players at this position I like when it's been relatively hard to come by them in recent years. A couple pages back I talked about Chris Duarte as someone who I see having no problem plugging in on a good team despite his age. Joel Ayayi is also ascending to that point where even if he's not going to be a big scorer, it's hard for me to see him not sticking around for a while. Aaron Henry from Michigan State is one of my favorite sleepers where he can really be an excellent defender from the two-guard spot and has improved well throughout college while being thrust into a bigger offensive role than he'll play in the NBA. I haven't done a deep dive on Davion Mitchell, who will probably rise past Denver's pick if he continues his play from the tournament, but it's hard not to love his defense. Then there are guys like Boston or Ziaire who definitely fit the bill of players Denver will take a chance on sight unseen if they happen to fall to the 20s.

Moody has no burst and no handle.. he looks like he knows how to play though and should be a good shooter and decent athlete but will probably be a bench guy. Reminds me Brandon Rush

I think he's very much this year's Saddiq Bey, in that it should be really clear what he is good at, and those things should translate, but he probably doesn't have a super high ceiling. I like him in the 10-20 range just fine, but not before - didn't really understand why people had him over Bouknight or Dosunmu.
