It seems like there's something going on with the Kings every month. I wonder how this will affect our chances of snagging DMC, if any.

Divac isnt letting go of Cousins just yet, i think thats pretty clear. The guy is stubborn enough to try and build something in Sac-town. When I heard his interview on Sirius NBA radio i thought he was delusional, but he really believes what hes preaching - which could be a problem for us if we want Cousins in Boston.

There is still a lot of concern within the Sacramento front office about Cousins.

It's brought up (again) in the latest Cowbell Kingdom podcast (starting at around the 56min mark, though the preceding 5 mins or so are interesting if you want to get a better idea re. the issues within that organization): http://cowbellkingdom.com/ck-podcast-ep-200-nba-scouting-consultant-ryan-blake/

I've transcribed the pertinent comments from Aaron Bruski for anyone who can't/can't be bothered to listen to it:

I actually got a source, very good source with an impeccable record, hit me up right after Vlade's comments. The comments were, "That's not necessarily correct"... there are still concerns behind the Kings walls that this relationship cannot be repaired.

Vlade Divac and Vivek Ranadive are in DeMarcus Cousins' corner, and that's probably the most important thing, but the rest of it is completely up for debate. Will George Karl and DeMarcus Cousins get along? Can DeMarcus Cousins forgive the Front Office for embellishing a story that did not exist. DeMarcus Cousins' agents were not holding back the hire of George Karl.

So can they get past this and does DeMarcus Cousins get fed up?... I think there's still a lot of anxiety in the Front Office that it's not gonna work out.

I also have it on good authority that the 'feelers' are out... What are 'feelers', y'know? That's a very vague term, but... put it this way, Kings fans, don't be shocked if things start to go bad, and don't be shocked if you start to hear all these scenarios put out through the normal PR channels that start to preface a potential trade for DeMarcus Cousins, cos that stuff is out there, the 'feelers' are out there. There's no action being taken, Vlade Divac/Vivek Ranadive is not out there, y'know, putting out the 'feelers'. They're concentrating on making the relationship with DeMarcus Cousins work... As long as everybody stays in their lane I think it's gonna be fine.

LBF said a week or so ago that a center and rim protection is the secondary priority at the moment. Spending our money on other needs and sitting pretty with our assets for when the Cousins/Kings situation implodes might not be a bad idea at all.

Exactly. Until DMC says get me out, he's gonna be there.

He's legit the only thing they have going that's good.

We aren't getting him this summer. Maybe next year after another year of being in a ****show, but not right now.

I think you're 100% spot on. As long as he's got the advocate in Divac, it will be at least until the deadline.

IMO, the dream scenario is netting Love and DJ, so we never again have to think about the possibility of Cousins in a Celtic's uniform. An immense talent with an immense amount of baggage. Too much of a gamble to trade away the farm. Now, if Love and another max fall through, we've got to take our chances....

Well, I'm here to eat crow. I was 100 percent wrong on Atlanta. Man, they were not even CLOSE to the team we saw in the regular season.

That being said, this finals matchup sucks. Warriors in four or five...

That Bulls front office is just filled with disrespectful people.

That Bulls front office hasn't done squat ever since Michael Jordan retired in 1998. Can't wait to read about the inevitable Fred Hoiberg/John Paxson fight in the locker room next season.

You think the Cavs have a better shot than the Warriors?

GSW is a complete team. Cavs are Lebron and a rag tag group at this point going against one of the best offenses ive ever seen hit a basketball court, not to mention the best defense in the league.

Saying GSW in 4 or 5 isnt really "crow" worthy.

No. What I'm saying is that its been a common theme this season to underestimate how good Lebron really is and just how far he can carry a team on his back. I get it - I hate him too. But sheesh. Saying this series can possibly be a sweep is a pretty big statement. It will be the most competitive series either team has experienced this post season.

Saying any finals will be a sweep is a big statement. And I don't see anyone underestimating LeBron, quite the opposite, I see everyone giving him a ton of credit for carrying this team to the finals. Many people are picking the Cavs to win it all as well, but I think if you take emotion out of it and step back from a neutral view, GS should be the easy favorites.

It will truly impress me if LeBron wins it all this year. That would actually give him a solid GOAT argument. But it won't happen, next season? I'd bet on it.

Of course he's getting credit now because he has done what everyone said he wouldn't. I was talking more about the underestimating leading up to this point.

And its a bigger statement when you are talking about Lebron. Lebron getting swept in his prime is something big. If the Finals were the Warriors and Hawks ... then yea.

Oh, ok. I personally never underestimated his ability to get to the finals even after Love went down. Didn't see many here do that either. Can only recall two or more three posters saying that. Are you referring to people on the GB?
