Three ball wasn't there for Frank, but he adjusted to taking a step in and knocking it down from midrange consistently. France out of the half is going with a three ball unit, Layberie and Albicy in to combat the Argentina gameplan. It's still a struggle though, Argentina's playing great defense and Scola has Gobert frustrated.

I can see it working out to be something like that.

But it looks clunky to me. Morris is more of a 4 and I would like to see Knox get more minutes at the 4 in small ball lineups. Randle/Portis should probably never play at the same time due to their defensive shortcomings. Iggy could be a player that deserves minutes too at the 3 or 4.

It just seems like it can be a bad mix if Fiz tries to force all the vets into the rotation. Or players may become unhappy/distractions.

I think Randle is going to play more 5 than people anticipate

Yup. Not sure why anyone wouldn't factor that in.
First off, with both LA and the Pelicants, he excelled as a small ball 5, at times.

Also, Fiz, during his coaching hiatus, was positively drooling in regards to Randle as a small ball 5.

I think Randle sees at least 15 mpg at C. And around 20 at "PF". And reducing Randles minutes at PF opens some more minutes there for Morris. Which opens up some minutes at SF for Knox, or whoever. (Iggy, Dotson, Frank)

i did consider randle getting small ball 5 minutes and he has excelled at point center. more than half his minutes there sounds like a lot.

i just figure with mitch needing good minutes and all of them coming at center you likely need to have portis spelling him. but portis can play either big position.

i also expect morris to start.

we got NO frontcourt defense if both mitch and taj are off the floor unless morris is at the 4 like you say. and taj is not in the rotation:

morris 20/knox 20/barrett 8
randle 20/morris 10/knox 6/portis 12
mitch 26/randle 12/portis 10

you could free up 8-10 minutes for taj if you keep all of barrett's minutes in the backcourt:

morris 22/knox 26
randle 20/portis 10/morris 10/taj 8
mitch 26/randle 12/portis 12

knox gets more time at the 4 if taj is out of the rotation. iggy might see the court some too. don't know if you bring taj in to never play, but WTF do you do?
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I like what I’m seeing from Frank. Attacking the defense. Making them pay for leaving him open.

Frank with a nice third quarter once he got in. He had a crossover to a drive, hit a three and on the last possession was visibly frustrated when De Colo missed him open behind the three point line. I like the energy. He's 5/8 with 11 points and was scoring at point when France needed buckets because no one could get anything to fall.

I'm surprised people haven't noticed Frank plays different when he senses his team needs him to be more aggressive.

There is zero reason why Frank shouldn't play the rest of the game

He's playing really well, but I'm still not sure what he can do in the league.
