If Indy wins, all that MVP talk for SGA was a curse.

SGA's new nickname will become SEA - Shai Egregious-Alexander.

When SGA gets the JT treatment from the refs - he is no MVP level

SGA is great at drawing fouls because instead of initiating contact, he forces the defenders to hit him.

Tatum is doing the opposite.
What JT does is he initiates the contact to force the refs to make a call.

In the past, that style works.
But in today's NBA, the refs will not give you the foul call if they see the offensive player is fishing for a foul.

I don’t know man SGA initiates contact and immediately flops quite a bit. Here’s an example from last night

Bryant's hands were clearly tangled with SGA's arm.

JT just needs to focus on making the shot.

What about the second play? SGA is clearly not fouled. Contact is clearly initiated by SGA, and he still flops onto the ground. People are tired of this.

I also loved when the Spurs mopped the floor with the hated Heat after gagging away the championship the year before. The Spurs ball and player movement was a thing of beauty. A lot of teams can do that for short stretches, but can't sustain it (teams revert to iso ball, etc.) The Spurs were able to sustain that style of play more consistently than any team I can remember.

The 2014 Spurs were truly a thing of beauty :

Pretty crazy that the 8-seeded Mavs (Carlisle again) managed to push them to seven in the first round.

They really were. Nice video.

Yeah, the 2nd play was a flop.

How on earth did we sweep these guys last year? Mathurin was injured I guess, apart from that it’s the same roster.

Celtics were great last season.

This season, the Cs got cocky.

The increase in 3pt attempts is proof the Celtics were letting them fly.

What's worse is the Cs were not as good shooting the 3 this season.

Last season the Cs had 4 players shooting 40% from 3.

They didn’t get cocky imo, they were tired. It’s the same for most champs. It takes a lot out of you to win and then all the celebrations throughout the offseason added to it. The shortest offseason ever(?) didn’t help either.

Tatum wrist and then Achilles
Brown torn meniscus
Jrue hamsting strain and mallet finger
Hauser bad ankle and back
KP couldn't breathe

Probably not going to win a title with 5 of your 9 man rotation unhealthy.

Because that’s what you do, take the EASIEST shot. You don’t have to do much to get a 3. You don’t have to fight to the rim, all you gotta do really is let it fly. You don’t have to do anything that takes much energy.

If that's the case then they deserve to lose.

On to next season I guess.

The fact that the Pacers are doing what they are doing is crazy. They don't have a superstar. Hali can be but he's not there yet and Paskal isn't one. They don't even have a MVP level player. Just a well rounded team who plays hard and trusts each other and Reminds me a bit of the 2016-17 Celtics team with IT. That is why i want them to pull it off. A team that won a championship without a superstar.

Bur also, Carlisle is an amazing coach up there with the best IMHO. What he did with that Mavs team with Dirk and a bunch of role players is so wild against the Big 3 Miami team.

Indiana is playing the purest form of basketball in years probably since the early 2000 San. Antonio team.

Tyrese haliburton may not be considered a superstar in the. Regular season. But he is absolutely a superstar in these playoffs..
