Pretty sure they're aiming for Kira/NAW to start at the 1 and 2 this year.

So Tae thinks he's going over there to start...welp.

So with the Graham S&T not being engineered for anything but what it was, KOJ officially completed, is there any hope left for a S&T for Lauri Markkanan? No word anywhere, but I’m suspecting the price was too rich from Lauri and his agent. Still hope we can make that deal.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Oubre was just officially signed so I think we only have MLE or we’d have to trade Rozier or contracts

we would only have the room exception, and that's what ish signed for. So we can't really sign anything without trading players

PJ Trades. I think he is the most expendable player in the team since we have so many PF/C's.

PJ + Richards for Wiseman.

Basically a swap deal. PJ is a good fit in GS and they save some money too.

----------------------

PJ + Richards for Derrick Jones Jr + 1st round pick. (Portland)

Similar to the first trade, this is basically a swap of PJ and the first. Jones is expiring.

In theory PJ might be the most moveable ... but he also has a perimeter game and can make 3s.

Devonte', Malik, & Caleb combined for nearly 6 3's a game last year. Kelly Oubre, James Bouknight, and Ish Smith look to produce roughly half that. If you take PJ's shooting off the team too spacing could get really ugly.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Best Free Agent Bigs
Markkanen
Cousins
Tacko Fall
Biz
Hartenstein
Ed Davis
Aaron Baynes

Teams with biggest needs at Center.. no third-string center.
Clippers. Zubac and Ibaka. Roster count at 15.
Trail Blazers. Nurkic and Zeller. Roster count at 13
Minnesota. KAT and Naz Reid. Roster count at 12.
Lakers. Gasol and Dwight. Roster count at 12
Warriors. Wiseman and Looney. Roster count at 16.
Cavs. Allen and Kabengale. Roster count at 14.

I wonder if we could trade Richards for a top 50 protected 2nd rounder to one of these teams. As you can see there is not much left in free agency. Or maybe even see if a team is interested in offering up something of value for Carey.

Just for trolling sake, I’d love for Portland to sign Biz just to play him ahead of zeller again

It was mentioned during the game with the Bulls that the trade market for Hayward was being explored. The Cavs are also desperately looking for wing help and want to move Sexton. Since we lost a lot of shooting with Graham and Monk gone I like them as a trade partner.

Hayward, Richards, and Martin/Iwundu

for Sexton and Love

LaMelo/Sexton/Smith
Rozier/Bouknight/Martin
Bridges/Oubre/McDaniels
Washington/Jones/Thor
Plumlee/Love/Carey

Collin Sexton was the guy we were rumored to like back when the team was discussing a trade with the Cavs for Kemba. He's an extremely hard worker and one of the best shooters in the league already. He'd easily replace the shooting we lost from Graham/Monk (and likely Rozier as well next summer).

I'd trade Hayward for Jarrett Allen whenever Allen can be moved

I think trading for Plumlee and drafting Jones put this option to rest.

I still think we need to add another shooter via trade. And if Hayward is being shopped that should be the top priority with whoever we'd be bringing back. Players that can shoot that are available like Sexton, Markkanen, Hield, Huerter, etc. should be the target. I think Thomas Bryant is likely available as well, he'd be a good acquisition that probably wouldn't cost much.

A trade from the Cavs fansided blog

https://factoryofsadness.co/2021/08/17/cavs-trade-proposal-gordon-hayward-comes-to-cle-for-larry-nance-and-others/

Gordon for Nance, Okoro, Osman and a 2nd.

I wouldn't touch Love though. His contract is even worse than Gordon's is.

I would do the Cleveland deal. It makes us a better team right now and in the future.

Sexton is up for an extension. It doesn't make sense to trade for him when we have Rozier already extended. Allen can't be traded until January, since he just signed an extension. The trade above gives us too many players. We can't have 20 players on the team.

So. Right after I said I wouldn't touch it.

I'd do Gordon for Love, Dean Wade and a protected first.

Love's contract is 1 year shorter. Wade is a decent 3pt specialist. We get a first because Gordon isn't totally useless like Love is.

Narrative 1: We need to win or LaMelo is going to leave

Narrative 2: We need to trade Hayward because we are on the treadmill

If we truly want to win, Hayward is going to be our best option, not some young player who is going to take another 2-3 years to figure out how to play defense and close games effectively.

It amazes me how short some fans memories are and how quickly they’ve forgotten how bad we looked when Gordo was out.

They also seem to have forgotten how long the stretches were in games when we desperately needed a bucket to stop the bleeding and the opposing teams momentum and no one on our entire roster had the ability to make that happen outside of Gordo.

The issue is Gordon is probably going to be out for half the season, again. Since his really bad injury a few years ago, he played 72 games. Then 52 games. Then 44 games. That's a bad trend and I see no reason it won't continue as he ages. If he were healthy and played 70 games every season, his contract would be close to acceptable. Nobody denies he is a good player, he isn't a reliable one.
