I think they're all fine with supporting racists as long as it benefits them. Which isn't really much better in my opinion.

I was saying this earlier and will stand by it. If you support a liar and racist that spreads hate and has over 200k american dead from a controllable virus and supposedly you claim to be christian and support equal rights and love thy neighbor and vote for trump then you are just as guilty of those sins he commits because you are enabling him.
You dont get to claim to be christian or a good moral person with ethics and morals while you support a man who wont condemn racists, lies over 20k times to the American people and you have just as much blood on your hands as he does.

Trump is recruiting people for his army to terrorize and intimidate people at the polls. He has already declared the election fraudulent. He told his fascist armies to STAND BY and wouldn’t denounce them. There should be no out clause for denying your culpability if you vote for Trump. There is no math that tallies your vote for Trump and says you are not a racist or a fascist.

This is the problem from history that seems to escape many Americans: You do not have to commit racist or fascist acts directly in order to be racist or fascist. All you have to do is go along with the people who get their hands dirty with those fascist or racist deeds. You're still a part of it. You're still complicit. And you're still a racist and a fascist if you vote for Trump.

The other big problem is not saying these things directly and speaking the truth clearly and without equivocation. It does absolutely nothing to restore civil discourse by pretending you are tolerant of the opinions of supporters of racists and fascists. What is a legitimate response is:

"I respect your right to express your support of racists and fascists, but that also means you are in bed with them. Thus, you are a racist and a fascist too."

That's real freedom of speech, not the neutered pretend kind of tolerance which is actually what lots of "liberals" get accused of.

So, yes, if you vote Republican now, you support Nazis, so you might as well call yourself one too and be honest about it at least.

I was expecting Chris Wallace to do a much better job controlling the floor. He was horrible in that regard. He was treated like a substitute teacher to a 4th grade class (aka Trump).

There has to be a better way. But them in sound controlled booths or pods and when one candidate is answering a question the other candidate's mic is turn off or can be turned off if he/she gets out of line. Who didn't expect Trump to do just this? Just mess up the board game. Trump hurt himself too with all of the interrupting and slanderous language and lies, of course. If he had been more subtle about it, perhaps he could've done a better job. But he came off as boorish and Joe, if nothing else, came off as a good guy.

we have the technology why can't they mute someones mic when it isn't there turn? It doesn't help anyone when they were bickering back and forth.

Because the networks want them to fight.

I am truly shocked and appalled with Trump's lack of decorum. This is essentially a job interview and I'm perplexed as to how anyone could vote for this crazy person to be the leader of the free world. The way he interrupted Biden and Wallace all night just corroborated how unhinged he's become.

It's unbelievable how ill-informed he is on so many topics. He had a couple indoor rallies where people completely avoided social distancing and wearing masks. It's more than likely where Herman Cain contracted the virus and subsequently passed away a few weeks later.

I don't know what Donnie walnuts was talking about during the environmental portion of the debate- he was all over the place. He continued to lie compulsively throughout the night- he even made mention of the Portland Sheriff (Mike Rees) endorsing him which was refuted by the sheriff himself on twitter within minutes of that being said stating he'd never support someone like him.

That Proud Boys statement was arguably the biggest gaffe of the night- essentially telling them to stand by in case things don't end up going his way. That's as inflammatory as it gets.

I don't know how Republicans can get behind this guy. Seeing those poll numbers on Biden winning the debate by just a few points is alarming- the right wing hitched themselves to Donnie's wagon and will support him regardless of how he conducts himself and the nonsensical drivel that comes out of his mouth. Truth be told, Biden isn't the most articulate public speaker but all he had to do was stay relatively calm and allow Trump to continue digging a deeper hole for himself.

I have no doubt that Biden's going to win this election. I think tonight sealed it for him. There's approximately 8-10% undecided in the country and I can't imagine Trump picking up many of those votes. Donnie lost his presidency tonight. I don't think he can do much within the next month to salvage his political career. Good riddance.

Because debates don't change opinions or do anything at all. That's basically the regular polling gap, basically it you like Trump you liked him doing Trump things on stage like literally saying the election won't be valid and right wing militias need to murder people. 1. If I lose the election is rigged.

2. I will use the SCOTUS that I'm stacking to be given the election once I contest it on the grounds that mail in ballots are rigged.

3. *Unstated in the debates but part of the overall* I've defunded the USPS and removed sorting machines to make sure we have as many errors with mail in ballots as possible since a majority of the people mailing in votes are Democrats and a majority of the people showing up in person are Republicans.

4. I will have people monitoring the polling stations for Democrats cheating. Sounded like a clear description of voter intimidation without using those exact words.

5. Oh yeah, and right wing militias/white supremacists (if you go to the question these are the groups he was asked to denounce) need to do "something" about Antifa.

Here's the bottom line for me. Trump needed to appeal to people in the middle and did not bc he was his usual douche bag self. He can't help it. It's how he's wired. So he failed miserably in that regard. Biden, even though I've seen him sharper, took the high road which was the right move.

I'll be surprised shocked if Trump got any bump from this debacle.

TYT had one its reporters at the debate. They do a good job of reviewing the night.

Which is basically the national poll difference. So, according to this poll, the debate didn't move the needle either way.
