I'll take it. Nothing spectacular and only 39 seconds of good play, but a nice start.

He showed that he wasn't afraid of the moment. Seemed to play within the flow of the offense. Some nice penetrations. His defense was what we hoped it would be. He isn't Kawhi yet, but with work, it's within the realm of possibilities down the road.

I like PW. Will be fun to see how he develops this season. He doesn’t even know what he can do yet. The way he uses his body on drives is promising though.

I cannot wait to see his progression through the season. He looks smooth and like the game is slowing down for him.

I'm not saying PWill will be a LBJ or Giannis type point forward, but if we ended up with a guy like that, you want a guy like Coby at the PG position.

IMO that’s the only way Coby can be the PG with the rest of this cast.

A small, one dimensional, 35% 3pt shooter?

If we want a specialist there, why not get a better one?

Why are you assuming he'll be a 35% shooter for the rest of his career? I'm a Coby skeptic, but he's a 2nd year player at 20 years old and shooting is his one skill I definitely don't doubt.

And to answer the 2nd part of your question, the better role players in this league are expensive and overpaid. It's much more efficient to develop your own talent, rather than overpaying for your Danny Greens, Kent Bazemores, or Robert Covingtons.

Thats not the point of the question. Hes asking what does White has to do with Williams being Lebron 2.0?
You dont call jamal crawford type 6th man talent when these guys are available for mles. Development time is also as important as cap space. You dont all in on a sub 40% chucker if you want to be playoff team. Hence, why this team is a decade long 20 win team bc 20 yr old kids that should be in unc/duke are starting 30 minutes.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

The reason I want to trade Lavine is to get a top 5 pick, and pray for a top 2 pick to add Cade. White and WIlliams would be great as secondary ball handlers with a true, lead ball handler. Keep Lauri at the 4, and we look pretty good moving forward (although it looks like Carter is a bust)

If you were the Bulls GM, the Bulls would be tanking every year praying they get the “guy you want”. It doesn’t work that way.

Bulls already have an elite offensive player. Focus on finding other elite players or develop the talent already here to compliment LaVine. Patrick Williams is already showing sole flashes, he just needs to continually grow as the season progresses.

Aren’t you the one who was I’m the GB rookie thread claiming that Williams was a guaranteed lock to have a ceiling of leonard?

It’s no surprise that the GB on here shuns Chicago. Bulls fans embarrass themselves year after year, and they are absolutely insufferable over on the GB

I mean good god dude, what in the world are you even talking about? Lebron James? Seriously? The f*ck? Patrick Williams will be extremely lucky to carve out the career of a prime Thaddeus Young

Bulls fans each year go more and more into delusions because reality is nothing else but cruel and sad. Most of our lottery picks last few years are dissapointing and they play worse than they did in their rookie years. This ofcourse has every bit with scouting and them getting figured out. But main point here is zero improvement in development of their games.

Patrick might really go and become great NBA player, but there is nothing at this stage to indicate that after rookie year in Bulls uniform he will get any better. We have 4 years pattern now with lottery picks. And this where this delusion is coming from when Bulls fans when they see rookie playing first few games, have solid nights, look good. Because they think they will only get better from there. Sadly they will not.

Why because spots they were picked is reason they got picked there. 7th picks are garbage picks for franchise in our stage. It's not anything different than picking 10th or 12th. You picking similar players who are really flawed but can shine on some night, but cant put it together most of nights. They are not difference makers, they are not elite in any skillset and overall they are projected to become average or below average players.

Bulls need top picks in draft. You can't build a franchise without top pick and chance to pick at minimum ONE elite projected prospect in draft. Not at least in our situation. When you think about it it's true. Tatum #3, Brown #3, Doncic #3, Morant #2, Zion #1 etc. It's pattern.

Building franchise building blocks with #7 picks is disaster waiting to happen and reason why GarPax were fired. They didnt put franchise in position to pick and choose best building blocks. You just need ONE guy, one catalyst, one difference maker, one hope. But they didnt and now we are here where we likely will be irrelevant for next decade.

So you're saying that the 2nd youngest player in the league - who came into the league not being known at all for his 3-pt shooting - isn't going to shoot 50% from behind the arc this season?

You sure are a pessimist...

The fact Williams is such a solid shooter already really has me optimistic for his development. He has ideal athleticism and size for his position (which is definitely SF all the way) so it all about the skills for him.
