I don't get the comments about the on-court stuff with Parker and Wiggins. It's pretty normal for the top picks not to participate. I don't think those guys were ever going to play. It is weird they are getting tested.

Since when did Embiid have surgery?

Do top prospects usually not go to the combine? I don't really remember the top prospects not at least doing something at the combine. Weird. Of course my mind goes to it being they don't want to play for Milwaukee. I mean why else would the top 3 prospects not workout when Milwaukee has the worst record? lol

Those three are going to do individual workouts in Milwaukee, whether or not they're attending the combine.

Hell, Anthony Bennett showed up as both and got drafted #1. To me it's like refusing a workout. You aren't Michael Jordan, you aren't better then the combine.

Yes they are. They don't need the combine, so why go?

It's like top prospects who don't go to the Senior Bowl or throw at the combine. It pisses off the scouts, but in the end, it doesn't really affect anything.

There is a small potential gain here, which is someone performing off the charts at everything and separating himself from the pack of the big 3, but there is probably a better chance that they could underperform in one way or another that could push them down to the bottom of the grouping, or even worse, pushed down beyond that.

Why go to the Senior Bowl? Why go to the NFL combine? Why do a pro day? Why do 98% of players go to the NBA combine? Why even work out for any teams? Nah, they aren't better then the combine. It's something most every player goes to, something every NBA team will be at, something that they should be going to. They don't want to partake in certain events in it so be it, but they should attend. They've been doing things they don't need to do to better their NBA prospects for years and they'll continue to do so for many more years, this shouldn't be any exception.

I would blow a f*cking gasket if we take Randle anywhere, let alone at #1.

Fixed - happy? 8-)

But, it really is dumb to frame a question as "you pick #1, Wiggins or Embiid?" It would have been like asking "you pick #1, Khalil Mack or Greg Robinson?" Either just remove the "you pick #1" qualifier, or include Embiid as an option, because I guarantee you whoever picks #1 will be seriously considering Embiid.

When Durant went to the combine he wasn't able to do a single bench press which made a lot of people question if he was strong enough to play in the NBA. Really though we knew how good he was at basketball and he had nothing to gain by doing those drills.

That would be a nightmare pick, reminiscent of Cleveland last year in a way. At least Kyler speculates they could take Exum #1 and that the Bucks are high on Wiggins/Parker. If Randle is 4th on the board and stands to remain then you have to hope they don't slide there next Tuesday.

Many of the best players don't do anything at the Senior Bowl or NFL Combine either, so who cares if they show up? They don't need it.

This Steve Kyler seems strangely insightful. I like the cut of his jib. Not crazy about the beard, though.

I expect Randle to show a few things at the combine that give the lie to the perception that he is nothing but an inside banger who can't play defense. I also expect those alligator arms to stretch out an inch or two over previously reported wingspan readings.

The answer to all of your questions is that they do those things to improve their position. It's not a rite of passage. It's an opportunity. If they feel it's more an opportunity for harm than good, why would they do it?

I think it's unusual that they're not attending at all, especially Parker, who has his roots in Chicago anyway, and as a fan I'm a little annoyed that I won't be able to compare them in the biometrics and athletics stuff, but I don't think any of them have more to gain than they have to lose, and I don't blame them for not messing with it. It's safe to not do it.

The fact that he wrote "wit" instead of "with" just bumped him out of my top ten.
