Re: Ford Mock 6.0 #2 Embiid
I don't think unless one really changes their games they are interchangeable, especially with a guy like Larry at center. I think it's really gimmicky, Mike D'Antoniish, have fun but ultimately get nowhere type of building a team unless Parker turns into Kevin Durant or LeBron James, which I don't see happening at all.
Ultimately I don't think Parker is the level of player that you break a conventional type of lineup for if you're trying to win games, and I don't think Giannis or Larry elevate their games to overcome it either.

I don't really like either Giannis or Parker at the 4. I think both naturally are 3's, which is 1 reason why I think Parker should be #4 on the Bucks list

If you draft Parker you put Giannis on the better offensive forward. It would work very easily. It's a separate debate from whether Parker should be taken at #2 though. No teams have zero defensive holes. It's whether he's a bigger NET impact guy that say Wiggins. I say no right now. But I'm not concerned at all with how he fits the current team.

So you two are arguing that Parker & Giannis can't play together? Or you are just coming up with another reason to not like him because you don't want to draft him.

I'm not sure how Larry & Giannis wouldn't be good fits next to Parker. If Parker played the 4, a good defensive shot blocking Center that can rebound and score on put backs and easy layups/dunks would be the perfect fix next to him, which Larry can do. Giannis is another long Defender who can guard multiple positions, rebound and block shots, not sure how he wouldn't be a great fit on the wing next to him either. On Offense Giannis can handle to ball, create for others, spread the floor and post up, good fit offensively as well.

^i agree and that's coming from someone who has Parker #4 right now. Been going back and forth on him and Exum.

I think they can play together, you'd have to do some major convincing or replace Sanders with someone like Anthony Davis for me to think it's a championship level frontcourt though.
And hell, I have Parker higher on my board then Luke. I think he has big potential, but that is mainly at the 3. I think Giannis has more potential as a 4 then he does.

He can't be the pick.

Laugh now but you'll be crying in the end. I won't gloat, just a gentle 'I told you so'. Exum isn't in the same stratosphere as Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker. Sig it, do what you gotta do but I'll stand by my position.

Don't draft Parker because then how will we defend the 3 remaining post up 4s? Also don't ask how they'll defend him.

Do you think it's weird that you're taking such a hard line based on a LACK of information? I think it's weird. I would think you'd just be like, "I don't know about him, I wouldn't be comfortable with it." Instead you're like, "He will definitely be a bust." Short circuit somewhere.

Championship depends on how good your top player (s) is (are). It's kind of a separate argument from this frontcourt one. That frontcourt complements each other very well though. It also features two players I could see being top 15-20 guys if everything fell right in Giannis/Parker. I just think your point is exaggerated here. I'd be excited about that frontcourt even if Parker isn't my top guy.

No not really considering the plethora of information we have on the big 3 of this draft, I feel pretty comfortable with it. I've always taken pretty hard lines with certain players, some guys I like and some I don't. It would be a mistake to take Exum, I don't see anything special besides that he's tall and quick. I'm 100% confident that Embiid, Parker, and Wiggins will be players we won't regret taking over Exum.

Yep. This is what we'd be forced to do defensively with Parker.

Honestly, I think Parker is a perfect fit in between Larry and Giannis. That said, He is still probably 3 for me, Exum is close, but I just haven't seen enough.

How big do people think Parker will end up being? He has a very big frame for an NBA player. I realize he was overweight at Duke, but the guy looks to me like he could naturally carry 245+ after a couple years in the league through working out and naturally filling out his frame.

Re: Ford Mock 6.0 #2 Embiid
I think Giannis/Parker/Sanders would be more than adequate defensively, if Parker is the scorer he's suppose to be and Giannis develops into the point forward he can be I think they'd compliment each other perfectly on offense. Sanders and Giannis are about as good as pair to put Parker in between as you can get and I don't even think Parker will be that bad on defense. One Parker's strengths is his rebounding so I don't think that would be an issue. Giannis and Parker are versatile enough where I think you can switch or even slide both of them down a slot with a bigger 4.
This team's core isn't going to be finished after this draft, there isn't any one guy carry this team single handedly in this draft unfortunately. I really wish we could find a way to get Marcus Smart, he'd be the perfect PG to grow with this team if we drafted Parker. Smart/Knight/Giannis/Parker/Sanders sounds pretty good to me. Knight probably isn't the answer long term at the 2 but doesn't hurt nothing giving him a look there.

PP, I don't like this comparison. Neither in terms of actual style nor in terms of as level of prospects coming out (and I know Reef was a big prospect coming out).
I can't help but think that Parker is being almost criminally underrated as a prospect around here by a lot of people. I think both that his deficiencies have been way overblown and his talent AND athleticism has been way underestimated, except by some of the big Parker guys.

I would play Middleton at the 2 and bring Knight as the scorer off the bench (if I couldn't move him).

We would get pushed around like crazy if we tried to trot out a frontcourt of Jabari and Davis. Davis is a PF. Larry is a center.
I have Jabari as my #4 guy, but I think he would be perfect next to Larry as the PF. Giannis, Jabari, and Larry could be a lethal frontcourt if they reach their ceiling.
