Would like to move on from any combo of Birch/Bacon/Ennis.
Otherwise there’s three of our starters moving forward.
Top 55 protected 2nds would work.
Sign some G-Leagers and tank it hard.
Might as well trade Ross too, he’s a valuable piece for a bunch of teams, but definitely not us.

do you trust them to use those picks? though some years later

Out: Vuc, AG, Fournier, Clark, Aminu
In: WCjr, Otto Porter, Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, 3 FRPs, 2 SRPs
Am I missing anything?
Sure we didn't get equal talent back, but we've got a lot of draft capital to make some noise. And, despite losing solid players, it's addition by subtraction at this point. If the goal is championship, those guys weren't gonna do it so we needed to try out something else.
I actually hope we somehow keep OPjr.

It doesn't matter. We're officially trash. I can't believe we traded 2 starters and an all-star and only got back 1 bad starter, 1 rough prospect, and protected picks. Individually, I think we lost every trade. But when you look at the entire return, it looks even worse.

when they didn't do anything to acquire doncic, by not moving on from the vets, not tanking properly, or not trying to move up on the draft day, I was so angry I tried to give up on the team lol. now they do all that, stealing 3 years from our lives in the meantime, without much to show for it.
geezus these guys are literally the worst. being emotionally invested in this team was definitely one of the worst choices I made

No, but they’ve also done themselves zero favors with picking 16th and making terrible decisions on skill sets relative to the roster.

Finally someone here with sense...what happened to this fan base. I haven’t posted here in a long time and it seems this fan base is so used to getting horrible returns in trades that we can’t see we deserved better for these players???
We’re just used to this???

I just don’t want to watch those guys play basketball anymore, but guess an aesthetically pleasing train wreck is still a train wreck.

I didn't either but you have to get more back as a whole than that.

Oh I’m talking about Bacon, Ennis and Birch. Not our outgoing players. I agree on the returns not being good.
It’s going to be miserable if we have to watch those guys play over young guys down the stretch.

Ah crap you're right. How do the new lottery rules work? If CHI is at 10, they can get 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12?

We have
Our 1st, Chicago's 1st, Den 1st, our 2nd - for this year
Our 1st next year,
Chicago's 1st in 2023.
Plus a bunch of 2nds.
so many ways you could slice this to build out the team.

Re: Official Speculation Thread '20-'21 VII: Magic Expected To Retain Core
I think T Ross can garner a 1st rounder from a contender, more valuable than Fournier for sure and on a favorable contract
