Obviously, investigators should check for/rule out massive deception on the woman's part. But I'd be astonished if they found it.

Yep, there's been larger deceptions before, but this seems like a done deal.

Lol KD isn’t gonna play in Toronto. Stars today have the power he’ll get traded where he wants

Maybe, Smart for Collins + 1 pick?

ATL wouldn't have a need for Smart now. And I doubt we move him.

White/Grant/pick probably gets you Collins. Not a fan of the defensive stepback though and Collins has complained about role before. But it could be worth exploring

Smart / Brogdon
Brown
Tatum
Collins / Gallo
RWilliams / Horford

You'd really need to use the TPE to land a wing though. And you're losing two great defensive pieces for someone you really don't need. I don't like the move. But value would seem reasonable.

One of my other favorites to sign is Richaun Holmes. I sure know how to pick 'em.

But I am serious. I've been a counselor in these situations. I want these guys to heal and not throw away the amazing opportunity they've achieved. They are young and it's not too late to learn and change. It's hard to break the stigma though.

This is still alleged, he deserves his day in court.

With that said...

I don't want his world to end forever, I hope he finds gainful employment AFTER he's paid his time and gotten help. I just don't think it should be on a team I cheer for. I believe in rehabilitation, I believe those people deserve to make a liveable wage again after they have paid their dues and gotten serious and lasting help. I just think part of their dues is the loss of the life as they knew it.

I'm not even talking about money, just the privilege of being an NBA player, who is a role model. I use to think people needed to raise their kids not to follow or look up to any old person just because they are rich/entertainers/stars, but then I realized there are so many kids out there without someone to guide them and who have no parents/terrible ones, mentors, or caretakers. Adults struggle with not idolizing stars, what can we expect out of kids.

Thank you, I appreciate the thoughtful take.

If Miles is willing to do the arduous work away from basketball, maybe he'll get another opportunity. And we don't know the full story. It's just -- this one really disturbed when I saw the photos.

To me, Bridges was a complete star in the making, seemed to be of good character, and would have looked perfect filling those lanes on the fast break.

You're right though, however much I've enjoyed his game he does not belong on the Celtics.

Toronto can have KD all they want. They don't have a viable championship team to surround KD. He's not going to be able to cary a team on his own, he's going to need at least one other star, most likely 2.

Would be interesting if Hauser got a chance. I feel as if the guy's 3 point shot is golden. Maybe I'm wrong. Begarin is a fantastic prospect, too. I really hope Juhan is with the team this year.

There is some nostalgia draw as the Lakers were his original team. And, it's LA.

Yes they were, but they waived him and Wash picked him up off waivers. I believe I'd be a bit bitter at that. Worse than getting traded. At least by getting traded, like we did with Crower for instance, it shows we had some value in him. Getting waived is like the Lakers escorted him to the door by security after he cleaned out his locker.

Kawhi was a star.

It’s all about the relationship you have with the front office. KD doesn’t seem at war with the GM, so I think they’ll work with him on a deal. Kawhi was a different story.

I’m shocked that other teams didn’t jump on him. Ton of upside there and played really well the last few months of the season.

Wonder what the terms were.

I think it's better to start Smart for a few reasons:

1) Should ALWAYS have at least 2 of Tatum/Brown/Brogdon on the floor together so you've got two 20 ppg type scorers out there.
2) Should NEVER have Smart and White out there as it's a very non-complimentary pairing.

Accomplishing both of those goals becomes way easier to facilitate with Smart starting and Brogdon off the bench.

So basically you want White to split 48 minutes with Smart as his backup? And have Brogdon be the primary backup for both Jays?

Yeah, pretty much. I'd probably do this in the regular season:

PG: Smart (27), White (21)
SG: Brown (20), Brogdon (28)
SF: Tatum (33), Brown (13), Gallo (2)
PF: Horford (6), GWilliams (24), Gallo (18)
C: RWilliams (27), Horford (21)

By playey:

Tatum/Brown - 33
Brogdon - 28
Smart/Horford/RWIlliams - 27
GWilliams - 24
White - 21
Gallo - 20

PG: Smart (30), Brogdon (14), Pritchard (4)
SG: Brown (24), White (18), Brogdon (6)
SF: Tatum (30), Gallo (8), Brown (8), Hauser (2)
PF: Horford (24), GWilliams (12), Gallo (8), Tatum (4)
C: RWilliams (26), GWilliams (10), some slob (8), Horford (2), Kornet (2)

Right. Because he had 1 year on his deal.

Wyc spend a little more money and go get Jakob Poeltl in SA with the TPE. Call it an off season.

He didn't stay even when they won a championship and Toronto could've offered him the most money.

Who's stopping them?

Themselves!

Celts beat themselves in the Finals by constantly turning the ball over.
