This is a seller’s market, and the only difference-makers rumored to be a available will therefore cost a king’s ransom. I’d be happy with a smallish deal for a Tyus or someone similar, but I’m not keen to throw multiple FRPs and valuable players out there for a guy who just slightly improves the team.

The time to do the heavy lifting is the off-season. Free agency and 1-2 FRPs that actually make sense.

And maybe a new FO to navigate this maelstrom.

I'm all for paying a King's ransom for a King...what reason is there to wait? Doesn't mean "get ripped off" or "rip off the other team"

What “kings” are out there? Murray is good but he’s not a “king.”

Just running with your phrase...I don't mind paying a fair price for a very good player. I don't need it to be a "steal". I don't even care if it's really good for the opposing team too - whether for fit, timeline, etc

I am kinda glad if they do. I am not saying I am upset about them over us. I believe a trade that doesn't involve Murray reaffirms my position that this is Blacks future position to lose and Fultz was the stop gap PG all along.

eeww.

Got to believe in that 2023 draft night though. Jett Howard = future SG / Anthony black = future PG.

Fultz/Harris/1st

For

Dinwiddie/Claxton

All expiring contracts and Nets pick up a first.

Can keep WCJ or look to move for more shooting.

Dinwiddie
Suggs
Franz
Paolo
WCJ

Cole/AB/Ingles/MO/Claxton off the bench

You had me right up until you had DPOY runner up Claxton backing up WCJ

Dinwiddie isn't ideal, but he'd be a huge improvement at PG. I wonder if they'd want Cole too...I'd add him and maybe the DEN frp if we could get a crack at the enigma that is Cam Thomas. Coach Vaughn might be ready to tap out on trying to get him to play into a system.

I would def start Claxton. I was trying to AVOID criticism by putting WCJ on bench or by ppl saying Claxton can’t step out 15 feet like WCJ.

I’d honestly try and flip WCJ for more shooting.

they've been my darkhorse for a week or so now. They have some good youth and can cash in on a good year.

Herb Jones, Nance, Murphy II and a 1st for Murray Okkongwu works.. will be very interesting to see what wins Murray

maybe we can jump in and get Murphy II

Not necessarily, no moves could mean a lot of things; a good deal couldn’t be found, a deal could have broken down, the front office is ok with the current status quo, etc. We don’t know what the front office is thinking.

Maybe...ATL already has Bey and Griffin. Murphy might be the best 2-way of them, but I'd love to reunite Griffin with Paolo (and he'd not break the bank). I think he's, at worst, Kispert and maybe much more.

It affirms my thought of maintaining the status quo. If nothing materialized so be it. Black > Fultz but so long as Fultz makes money he will get his minutes and status back until Black is beating him in every category. Which could be as soon as the start of next season. Should Fultz be resigned I mean.

Idk...I really like Black's future...but we're too potentially good right now to just accept Black moving into 7ppg and 2 apg as enough to celebrate. We need, IMO, to not re-shuffle a badly constructed roster - we should look outside the current roster for real improvement not settle. Black being better than Fultz is virtually meaningless. I kind of feel like jumping to Tyus would be significant, but still not enough...add a pick or two and take a leap that can improve us substantially for years. If we're not pencilling in Black as "starting PG", we can deploy him in many ways now (like we do with Isaac) while he's developing PG and overall offensive skills to the level of a starter.

Suggs is our best SG. Black may be our best PG...Suggs/Black is a bad starting backcourt. Both are very good players.

Nah it’s not because of that. Everyone knows we need to make a move.

If we don’t make a deal it’s because of their inability to do so.

The Ingles disrespect around here is out of control.

Ingles is good, Hayward is better…both are made of glass at this point, but certainly can contribute. Not sure why Hayward would come here on a buyout- when money is basically irrelevant. He’ll go to a true contender if he gets a buyout. If ORL made a move or two first, he could become a possibility, but he’s not enough to be a legit third option on a contender anymore and that’s what we need to become a serious playoff problem…as presently constructed, ORL isn’t going to win a series. Too simple to dismantle our offense.
We still have cap room, so we can pay more than most teams.

If they are asking for Herb Trey & picks that’s a lot to give up for Murray IMO.

Unless Pelicans try and flip CJ for more depth.

Allegedly the Pelicans wanted Okongwu in addition to Murray and the Hawks don't want to include him.
