kane2021 wrote:SO how do you guys feel about this series?

I think we can take it. The pressure is on them. We are the ones that have a point to prove because just about everyone has them picked. I think we are tougher. Deeper. And just as talented.

I dont think we or anyone can stop their main guys. But I do think we have the parts to make it difficult for them to succeed. And thats really all you can ask for.

I think we are a tougher team. In my eyes the key is keeping each game as close as possible. Back them into a corner late and make them perform in the clutch.

I really think we can take this. Our second round matchup will be easier. I can see us making it to the ECF.

What yall think?

NO doubt in my mind that yes, if we get past the Heat, the second will definitely be easier---PLUS, remember that Lin might be here in the second round.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

In what would probably be the most watched playoff series in a long time, I think Shump is so anxious to show the world how he goes to work on defense.

Iman will make Wade work for every point.

The way Melo is playing at such an elite level i don't think it is crazy to think he can cancel out LeBron production. Amare looking good the last few games I have full confidence at least he can cancel out Bosh's production.

So that leaves these matches:

Chandler vs heat centers (chandler needs to dominate this matchup and get offense rebounds and second chance points

knicks pg vs heat pg - baron needs to cancel out chalmers production

Wade vs Shumpert (shumpert needs to hold his own in making made make tough shots outside the paint)

knicks bench vs heat bench (if we destroy them in the matchup with JR, Fields, Novak, and Jeffires which we are capable we have a great chance to win this series)

It sounds like both Tyson and Jeffries will be able to play tomorrow while TD might be out.

He is still gonna play tomorrow. Not sure how much a flu will affect his play though

And he missed the only practice we could have before the game :(

I agree with whoever says that we need to match up Amar'e on Bosh. This will maximize Tyson's usefulness as a help defender and an intimidator to LeBron. Amar'e has to step up.

I'd also like to see Amar'e get subbed out relatively early in the first quarter. That way he can enter to start the 2nd quarter, and play 6 minutes or so at the 5 with the 2nd unit. He'll be potent offensively in that set.

My start of the 2nd qtr lineup would look like this

Amare
Novak
Fields
JR
Shumpert

fields and JR are good enough rebounders to help out and this would be our P&R offense with Amare while Tyson and Melo get there rest.

Good thinking.

Hopefully Melo doesn't get in foul trouble early. Man we got screwed so bad game 1 last year. I remember Melo getting called for some early first quarter, ticky tack fouls.

Yeah exactly. I think JR can run the pick and roll well with Amar'e. Even Bibby showed signs of being able to run the PNR with Amar'e, though it was the Bobcats...

Although that lineup doesn't have a true point, Fields, JR, and Shumpert are all good enough passers to run a small, quick offense.

All of all the players on this team, this series might be most important for Shumpert, a rookie

Hes either gonna collapse under pressure, and play terribly
or
Hes gonna turn into a diamond under pressure, and rise to a whole new level

Shumpert is the x-factor

@FisolaNYDNWow. Mike Woodson says there is a "strong possibility" Tyson Chandler doesn't play. I find that hard to believe

tyson has the same flu-like symptons that toney douglas has.

toney douglas - I hate you so much. So so much.

Ira Winderman
Tyson Chandler misses Knicks practice with flu-like symptoms, as does Toney Douglas.
