Talent fit matters.
Kobe has been lucky (or more accurately, has had good management) in that he's generally played with complementary talent, which is not the case in Miami, where the perimeter talent overlaps severely (including Bosh as a perimeter offensive talent). But the thing is, it doesn't actually change how good Kobe is, just how much he was able to achieve as part of a well-constructed and coached team.

Asianiac_24 wrote:LOL. After the decision everyone thought Miami would win every year when LeBron signed with Wade and Bosh. Guess what, they are in their second year together and they probably won't win for the second straight year. T-Mac teamed up with Yao, everyone thought they would win. Guess what? T-Mac still never got out of first round. Iverson teamed up with Carmelo and won nothing. Shaq played with Penny and Wade when he was still relatively in his prime and only got one, and most would agree Miami didn't even deserve it. Dr.J had Moses Malone and only won 1 with him.
But Kobe's teammates are so good Dr.J would win at least 7, even though he had Moses Malone and only won 1. Duncan would win at least 10, even though he had Parker, Ginobili, D-Rob, and Bowen and one of the best front offices in the league and only won 4.
This is a pretty ignorant reply. Let's go over why:
1) There is something called the law of diminishing returns. There have been almost no teams in NBA history who have won 65+ games (or very few), because while SRS varies, you basically max out how many games you can win in the grind of a full season. If we added Shaq to the 96 Bulls, does it follow that they win 82 games? Of course not, they'd still lose some games, because in the NBA any team can beat any other on any given night (heck, the only team to beat them twice was the worst in the NBA, the frickin expansion Raptors). Teams don't play at the same tempo or intensity all season long, and they'd be foolish to do so. So as long as Lebron's team was in that range, nobody cares.
2) The Heat last year were in that range, except they had major injuries to their (already thin) support cast. Then there were other reasons why the Heat didn't quite get to that "law of diminishing returns" mark, these included; a) new team who needed time to gel, b) coach sucked, c) terrible at C and PG, two of the most important positions, d) zero depth, and as mentioned earlier e) injuries. Factor all that in, their performance in year 1 was right in line with expectations- awesome, but not quite there yet (which is why the majority of commentators (plus vegas) picked the Lakers to win it all, not the Heat. The Heat this year were basically the same results wise, except they started to take some nights off at the end of the season to rest for the playoffs, and had more injuries to their main guys (plus Wade had a poor season compared to usual), some of which is probably due to the lack of preparation for the season. If the Heat win the title this year, nobody cares.
3) T-Mac and Yao basically never played together healthy, the team was devastated by injuries, and then T-Mac was so hurt, he wasn't T-mac anymore. T-Mac also wasn't Lebron (or even close excpt for 1 season), and Yao isn't Bosh + Wade, and nobody was predicted those 2 to win in their first season either. T-Mac was a player in the Kobe tier mostly, not the Lebron one.
Kobe's team mates were definitely that good. Dr J would have won at least 7 titles with that level of talent relative to the competition, and Duncan over 10.

Someone has their finger on the money when they say Kobe has been blessed with awesome talent during his career, if Erving had played with the same calibre of players Kobe had, he'd have 7 titles at least. Duncan would have over 10.

Sorry, was just kidding around.
It does kind of bother me when people use Gif for non animated images when they should be using PNG or Jpeg.
I also have nothing against the Cats and sort of followed them occasionally when they had
G. Wallace who was a fav player of mine.
