Yes...you are being a fan looking at the games through a fan's lens. Some posters are very knowledable actually, but many are wrong about simple elementary b ball knowledge. Mayo vs Harden is a hell of a lot closer than many on here are willing to admit, and the fact that Mayo is more efficient on the offensive end is totally ignored on this board...something fans tend to do
i think the funniest thing said was when someone said "actually, McGrady is> Dirk"
just goes to show the extent of b ball knowledge most posters have on this board, I am not even going to take my time to debate such a ludicrous statement
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Do you understand sample size?
Yawn....you are reaching back in the past 4 years to find anything at all to support your argument

Big difference between in the paint and at the rim

at this point it's laughable. But here, since I'm not worth it, respond to tsherkin.

Your link excludes the restricted area, so that's basically only floaters. Harden's only taken 20 shots from that zone by that definition all year.
ignores assists and created opportunities for other players.monopolyman wrote:Will respond to Tsherkin's post when I have time. After skimming it, here are a few.things that are flat out wrong.
"Harden IS the offense, mayo is a role player".....really? there is less than a 3% difference in their user ratings, and Harden is at 28%...
Mayo is assisted on nearly 60% of his shots, yet failed to mention he averages 1.4 points on iso situations, top 5 in the league and well above Harden
harden gets to the rim and finishes three times as much as mayoHarden gets in the lane a bit more more but shots a god awful 30% in the paint while Mayo averages well over 40%
Harden actually usess more possesions to get to the same number of points as Mayo
scoring wise he has been more efficient... Over twenty games. That's the only thing he's done better. How is scoring only making him more complete? Will respond to all later....but food for thought....I could give you a litany of all of Harden's faults as well and make him look terrible, that's not very difficult, just time consuming.
Anyway, as I have been saying, Mayo.is definitely the.more efficient offensive player and IMO more complete

no it doesn't check.agai.... 56% at rim

In the post I quoted you said 30%, and that's only looking at points in the paint with points at the rim excluded. I'll take the nba.com 56% over hoopdata, but he still takes double the attempts there as Mayo.
Mayo has a better pull up and floater, but Harden gets all the way to the rim more than twice as often and finishes better.

Sample size is important, you fail to grasp that. Stats are used contextually.
harden's assist% is also 7 points higher.monopolyman wrote:Shearsy...your assist argument is a good one, he averages 5.5 a game...to Mayo's 4, though he plays nearly 5 mpg more
I've made that concession, he's scoring more effectively. You claimed he's more complete and your stats don't back it up.However, when they do shoot it, Mayo's %'s are more indeed more efficient, even when his 3pt % drops
Whenever Mayo trumps Harden, you guys simply.say sample size...which i have responded to a number of times, yet i have yet to recieve a reply. It takes away from your credibility as an objective observer, other than that...good post
