I'd make that trade. If Lee can learn to shoot a little he'd be a solid rotation guy.

Count me in as well. Adrien just doesn't have a spot in our rotation at all and I think he'll be waived if we don't trade him. Lee's biggest issue has been staying healthy. If his body holds up he's a rotation player in the NBA.

is Adrien even on our roster? Do we even have to waive him?

Yeah, he's got an unguaranteed contract through this season. Really think he's going to be waived before the season unless he really impresses us though. As much as I like the dude, we have like 30 guys who deserve playing time at his position as it is.

Us... overrated, overpaid, and always injured. At least our Gordon expires after this season. Maybe at the deadline if he actually plays this season and Portland overachieves.

Re: Trade Thread III - Post Fake Trades Here!
I wonder if Cleveland would be interested in Henderson and Detroit/Portland first for Waiters....
Waiters is kind of small for the 2, and they might be looking for a solid defender/veteran to play the 2. Also, Hendo can help them out, because they are not very talented at the 3, especially at end of games with Jack playing the 2.
For Charlotte, it makes sense because we get a much needed outside shooter and another creator on offense. Also, we get younger and it saves us money. We could even use Waiters as a 6th man and start Taylor at the 2. Especially after this year once Gordon is gone.
Might be reaching...

Waiters isn't even a better jump shooter than Henderson. He just takes more 3s.JMAC3 wrote:I wonder if Cleveland would be interested in Henderson and Detroit/Portland first for Waiters....

I've been wondering that if Jefferson was signed as an asset what teams would be in the market to trade for him and what the return would be in people's opinion?
Also what would the market be for Ben Gordon? Which teams may be interested and would we have to take on a bad contract because of the size of his expiring?

The answer to both these questions is OKC.
Gordon for Perkins and their young guys.
Jefferson would be an awesome fit for OKC, just don't know what they could give up.

I still think Al would be a great fit on LAC. They have nobody with a post game at all and it's killing them in the postseason when the games grind to a slower tempo. I don't know if they have anything they'd be willing to give up for him though. A DeAndre Jordan & Cody Zeller pairing could be interesting though.

Re: Trade Thread III - Post Fake Trades Here!
LA's frontcourt is bad enough defensively. You want to add Al Jefferson to that messy defensive froncourt that includes Griffin, Mullens, Hollins, Antawn Jamison, and Deandre Jordan?
They don't have enough to give up though.
Also, wait a couple years, we'll have a better version of Deandre Jordan in Biz anyway.

Does not compute. The Clippers defense is monumentally better than our defense (8th compared to last in DRtg) so why did we add Al Jefferson then?

We didn't have anything. The Clippers have a big man that scores a lot in the paint and grabs a lot of rebounds. When you're winning, you look for fit, when you're crap, you look and try to get whatever you can to help you.

The Clippers have a big guy that scores a lot in the paint? Where? They have that commercial actor whose numbers and rebounds are getting continually worse if that's what you mean.

Because that Clipper team is getting better and better every year, therefore Griffin doesn't have to do as much.
Not to mention with the additions of Collison, Dudley, and Redick, that team is stacked with three-point shooters which means more floor spacing and tons of Blake Griffin not being double-teamed in the paint.

I agree that LAC could be a fit for Jefferson, I don't think they would be willing to part with the pieces required to get him and by that I mean we wouldn't want DJ back in the deal.
OKC I could see for Perk and Lamb, Jones or Adams, one of the youngsters but I'm not sure they'd give up 2 despite dumping Perk.
Denver I could also see, they need to do something. Maybe something around Wilson Chandler+Fournier+filler?
What exactly is Al's value?

If Jefferson had done more winning in his career his value would be off the charts. I honestly have no idea what his value would be. Elite offensive pathetic defensive center. Hard to gauge.

If you have basically a 20/10 center then you would think he'd have great value but Al Jefferson went from being the centerpiece of the Kevin Garnett trade to being traded for a couple of firsts and Kosta Koufos.
If we traded him we'd have to get value but how much is the question.
Would we be able to trade him to the Cavaliers for Tristan Thompson+filler?
The Cavaliers could be another team who would have interest as they seem to be gearing up to win now.

I agree with your LAC assessment. I don't think OKC would throw too much in the way of attractive filler alongside Perkins either, especially after the Harden trade blew up in their face. I can't see Al in Denver considering their history of up-tempo, mile high basketball with Brain Shaw there now you might be onto something. Al might work nicely in the triangle but that's a lot of money tied up in a Jefferson-McGee frontcourt (and Gallinari). They'd probably rather dump McGee on us and roll out a Faried-Jefferson pairing.

Great point. They've got a lot of young guys that I'm not sure fit that well together. If Bynum continues to rock a fly suit instead of a uniform, they might get desperate for a win-now center. Jefferson for Varejao, Waiters and Gilbert's terminally ill son aka their lottery lucky rabbits foot.
