The fact they have not penalized themselves isn't exactly evidence for neutrality, if they were biased you definitely wouldn't expect them to admit to it. What a notion.

Lol... What is your argument... I swear people are trying so hard to DEFEND the refine and they're not even making any sense... And that's exactly my point. The fact that people like you feel the need to defend refine so hard and can't even admit that it's not always a fairly ruffed game or can't even admit that there's anything wrong with the refine at all is e reason why refs go unpunished... If no one gives a **** and is willing to turn a blind eye to any controversy, then of course the refs are gonna keep being allowed to **** up... Anyway, whatever, continue to take everything at face value.

Unfortunately people like me have no clue what you're talking about.

The T Ross calls killed us. If you were intending to take Toronto out of the game, hitting \T Ross (a non star player) with 2 non-shooting fouls is a subtle but perfect way to do that.

He was locking up Joe Johnson in the plays just before he was taken out.

The no calls in the 4th quarter just cemented it for me. The league wants Brooklyn to win. There's no doubt.

Thanks for the first hand account.

What really got me was the two blatant travels by Paul Peirce and KG both coming across the key. I was screaming at the tv. Fouls are Fouls they go both ways, but when I player travels and gets a bucket outta it that makes me the most angry.

The whole exchange is what's funny, employing character judgement on a unanimous forum is what gives this page a bad name. It was meant to be ironic, "people like you" was where it came from if you read the context.

one fan showed Adam silver a foul near the end of the game.. I tried to read Adam's lips and he said
"You're right, that indeed is a foul", then he took a pic with the fan

KG has all sorts of exceptions. There is a secret appendix to the NBA Guide to Officiating - "Appendix X: Kevin Garnett No-Calls". (www.NBAOfficiating/Rulebook/2013-2014/playoffs/html)

In particular, I quote from Subclause 2(4)(c)(ii) (Playoffs):
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Rules, no Official shall call an offensive foul on Kevin Garnett during any playoff series against a team from a Non-Priority Market in the following circumstances:
a) feet too wide on screen
b) moving screen
c) elbow to upper body
d) elbow to lower body
e) knee to the groin
f) over-the-back on rebounds
g) any other non-ball-handling offensive foul.
Addendum: For the purposes of avoiding perceived Priority Market bias, an Official may call one offensive foul during the first quarter of the first game for one of the foregoing infractions.

It's not really bias, per se. KG has all sorts of exceptions, but they apply to every team, especially "small" markets (meaning, non-NY or LA markets). There is a secret appendix to the NBA Guide to Officiating - "Appendix X: Kevin Garnett No-Calls". (http://www.NBAOfficiating/Rulebook/2013 ... yoffs/html)

Clutch Carter wrote: refs calling absolutely nothing in the 4th on the Nets didn't help them a ton

I keep seeing all these posts about how the nets didnt get any foul calls against them in the 4th quarter like it was super 1 sided.

The first 10 minutes of the 4th quarter there were 3 fouls:

A foul on peterson agains livingston, an obvious call

A charging call on deron williams

A non-shooting foul on vazqeus

the rest of the way it was intentional fouls to try and send the nets to the foul line. its not like the nets were in the bonus the entire quarter with the refs callings tons of fouls on the raptors either. The only real beef i can see was the no call on garnett on JV with 15 seconds left and the nets up 5. it was pretty irrelevant, give JV a free throw and its a 6 point game (nets knocked down the 2 free throws on the other end) instead of 7.

Doug Smith calls Game 1 referee Ed Molloy one of the worst in the NBA:

It’s Ed Malloy — considered by many to be one of the worst referees in the NBA — getting the Game 1 officiating assignment on a crew that might have been the weakest overall in the eight weekend playoff openers.

Good article if read in the NFL Films voice.

So many excuses in that article. It does a disservice to the team and the game for casual fans to read that and get the idea the team is treated like the red-headed stepchild. Not just for a game, but like it's been that way for the franchise's existence.

That was the most awkward part of the whole thing. Here's the commish. The guy in charge of everything, and he sees this on the court. And he just smiles away.

The NBA is messed now too, where they come out the next day and report that they missed a CP3 foul in the LAC game. It's a nice gesture to point out mistakes, but it doesn't make sense if they're not going to point out ALL the mistakes. Like, it appears the NBA is now saying all the calls in the Raps game were legit.

Rebellion! I think it's a matter of emphasis that this team will have to steal their Ws. It's a good spirit to have, and hopefully this is just the beginning of that **** 'em all attitude. The moment when KG was chased from the game in 4 minutes because he couldn't handle JV was pure, though. The block was clean. That's what matters in the long run.

Bless the mod who corrected the thread title. You can overlook that sort of thing within a thread, but the thread title has been up on the main forum page for days and makes us all look like idiots when BKN or fans from other cities wander over.

I'm feeling like the league is protecting or trying to fix games. LMA should not have gotten that 6th foul vs houston in OT, it was a very cheap foul to call and when the game is that close, playoff intensity, and you know the start player has 5 fouls, that is a play on.

Same thing happened with Marc Gasol vs OKC. I feel like NBA is pushing the popular teams in both these examples.

However the right team ended up winning anyways.
