Way easier said than done when you're not the guy trying to get a shot off with 3 seconds left.

He shot the ball too early. He wanted to win the game with a 3. One on one in that position, he should have got a better look.

There are no better looks with that much time left on the clock. 9 times out of 10 those shots get missed regardless who shoots them. Why the hell are you down to the damn Magic at home anyway?

I think there was enough time to get a better shot. The reason why we were in that position is we are a bad team. I think we'll win less than thirty games with this team. I just hope we get a top 5 pick.

In theory you'd want Melo to get the ball on the inbounds as a decoy and pass it back to the inbounder for a wide open look.. but come on we all know that ain't happening.. yet.

Carmelo said he thought the #Knicks ran the last play as it was designed.

Melo, on JR the last shot: "I don't [go into every clutch situation] thinking Imma get the ball every time."

Melo won't throw the homie under the bus like that.

exactly if JR passed that ball Melo would have gotten it with less than two second to get a shot up and with a man on him... almost in possible. Slow down...

Option people... thats basketball! What did Fisher said "Options" keep calm you all need to relax. Fish has no problem with that last second shots. Immature Knick Fans ..SMH Who else is going to step up for the knicks when Melo is cold or on the Bench... aleast JR tries and has for years..

seriously **** you.

When your best player is hot...There is no thing as options.

It goes in Melo hands. He misses we walk into the locker room saying hey we lost by our star. JR shoots it while Melo is hot (also JR missed last 4-5 shots i think) and everyone walks in locker room and says....what happened ?

You think Jordan said there options ? Wade (pre-leborn) ? Durant ? Bird ? Reggie Miller ? oh please..Fisher has no accountability.

He said the play wasn't drawn up for JR. Maybe he doesn't want to call JR out to the media? He should talk to him in doors. Fisher seems like he don't mind receiving the heat from the media, instead of pointing fingers at his players.

Well Derek would know about options hitting game winners. Kerr most famous moment is being an option. Battier in 13. The list goes on and on. Difference is Melo is doubled from start to finish and espically in crunch time. Those guys gotta be read and confident. Two over three could be the complaint but not that he took the shot.
Melo say the right things..I'm happy he's keeping upbeat with the losing.

I don't mind that shot from JR. Melo has a tendency of dribbling when the clock is ticking down when he should just shoot it.

Triangle needs skilled players that understand the game.

Aaron Affalo would be a nice replacement for JR Smith.

j4remi wrote:You can see Melo's baffled at not receiving the ball, JR probably wasn't supposed to dribble at all lol. I think the move is obvious for Melo too, rip under looking for the foul on the pull up. It's a tough jumper but with Gordon crowding him it's either a foul or Gordon can't his hands up at least.

Frustrating loss, not much else to say. Melo and Shump's foul trouble killed us, they have to play smarter. The looks Jason Smith got and bricked were crazy open but I can't blame him when Melo shoulda been in there but couldn't stay out of foul trouble.

Dude 2 of Melos fouls weren't fouls. One he didn't even touch Harris. Got some real cheap calls tonight thought he would have gotten T'd up

I'm not too worried about the loss. This year is what it is. But still, if you tell me that either JR or Melo is going to take a contested jumper to win/tie a game, I'll take Melo ten times out of ten. You've got to find a way to at least get him involved in that last play.

We should've signed Anthony Morrow this season!! I like his range and shooting touch!!

Instead we got Jason Bricklayer No Defense Smith for those money!!

Jose/Shump/Morrow/Melo/Cole would look much better!!

Looks to me that he crossed over, trying to get himself that good look, that wasn't really a good look....and threw up a brick....I thought he was going to give it to Melo as he drove right. Then everything changed...

He also has a whole lot more game winners than JR.

We gave a tanking rival a much need victory and moved into sole possession of 4th place. We are piling the losses quickly, this is what a good tanking team does. The JR shot could propel us into a top 3 pick!

Even if Derek didnt like JR taking the last shot he really wont say that blatantly or else fish is going to look like he is throwing JR under the bus.

Return to New York Knicks
