Even if the Cavs get Wade is he even a better fit than Jr Smith? I'm sorry but for the Cavs to counter the Warriors move they would need to do something crazy like aquire both Wade + Carmelo. Wade while still a very good player, just isn't THAT player anymore. He isn't good enough to offset the lack of spacing he would provide

He has to know that he would become the 1b GOAT if he actually beat that team in the finals. That kind of opportunity might just be enough for him to consider doing whatever he has to do to bring Wade on board.

This too. IF he wins next year against a healthy Ws team, he'll become the CO-GOAT.

I agree (would even rather have Frye than Wade TBH). The Cavs' probably know this as well, there are other pieces they can move to get Wade outside of JR.

If we have to move any of Kyrie, LeBron, Tristan, Love, JR, Frye, or Shumpert to get Wade, then it's a no go from my view. For as much hate as Shump gets, he consistently ranks among the top players in basically any variation of RAPM, while Wade was 326th/399th in RAPM this past season (depending on whether you use prior-informed or non-prior-informed) and only getting older. In fact, the Heat were significantly better in both the RS and PS with Wade on the bench. Shump is a fantastic perimeter defender and the best on the team outside of a locked-in LeBron. Both JR and Shump play roles that the Cavs really need them to play, while Wade can't knock down threes or play lockdown defense.

Big name aside, I just don't think Wade would be as valuable to this team as either of the SGs already on it, so unless we're getting him for very little, count me out.

Shump's the only one I'd consider moving.

Most moves have pros and cons. With Wade on the floor instead of JR or Shump, the Warriors REALLY would have nowhere to hide Curry on defense. The Cavs wouldn't even have expend shot-clock time getting a switch, just pass the ball to whichever wing player, LeBron, Wade, or Kyrie, is being guarded by Steph.

I'm a big stats guy and love advanced stats, but you have to balance them with your eyes and with common sense. Wade, as he showed over 14 playoff games this summer, is still REALLY damn good.

I get what you're saying, But i still take Wade over Shump. And i think he was the worst rotation guy in the Finals on both teams, Yes even worse than Harrison Barnes.

If you can move Shumpert for Wade, you do that. Wade is still a good defender and isn't someone you can just sag off in the postseason, as evident by his newfound 3 ball in last years playoffs. The biggest thing I think it would allow for is Kevin Love to get back to being a playmaker from the nail/top of the key.

The ideal scenario from a basketball perspective is Wade taking a Ginobli/Iggy type role as the super-6th man, running the offense when Lebron is on the bench and finishing games. I absolutely wouldn't do it if it meant letting go of JR - he is crucial to their starting lineup, arguably the 3rd most important player on the team. It remains to be seen what kind of market there is for JR, tho - I think a lot of teams view him as still a potential loose cannon who could go full Lance Stevenson if he left Lebron's orbit. He will get paid, but possibly not the 3 years/60 million type contract that he might get if he wasn't named JR Smith.

What if Lebron demanded to Dan Gilbert to get his buddy Wade no matter what! Would Cavs fans still be against it even if it means losing a key player on the process?

Unless the "key player" is Shump, I'd be against it. I really don't want to tie up stupid cap space on Wade because he took a discount in Miami for all those years. How is that Cleveland's issue?

I totally agree with this. I think DWade/KLove could develop a rapport in 2nd unit time. Look at the chemistry Love and Corey Brewer had, I think KLove could work with a slashing Wade.

CLE needs to run more pick n pops for KLove next year. And not always out at the 3pt line. Give him some mid-range curl action stuff. I was watchin some old MIN highights and Rubio just feeding the ball to him all over the court not just in one spot. It's just insane, with LBJ's court vision, he can't replicate what Rubio was so easily able to do for KLove. Mind boggling.

I just can't go through another season watching a 21mil door stop camping on the 3pt wasting away but I suppose, seeing as the avg salary is gonna be around 10mil, KLove like the MLE equivalent. lol.

Not to mention the flight everyone was posting about was netjets formerly known as execjet, but the tweet came from a different private jet charter company than that. Maybe just some super smart trolling from that one company...

Lebron might take a small pay cut. But he will want Dan to go over the cap.
