Hard to say if he is actually any good though. He has been through 2 major knee surgeries so i am not sure how much can be gleaned from his career numbers. Time will tell i guess.
They flashed a stat about Lavine averaging 24/5/5 in the last 10 games or whatever like that was a noteworthy accomplishment, which is what Beal is averaging on the season.
It's not that far off what Lavine has been averaging (23+, 4+, 4+). "Over the last 10 games, Lavine has been averaging marginally above his season average." It's like when they do the, "Over the last 40 years, the only players that have averaged 16.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.5 spg, and 1.5 bpg over the first 13 games of the season are LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwan, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Nebbish Schmuck."
These are the trivialities stats that people who don't understand numbers think people who understand both numbers and basketball waste their time on, because to them it's all numbers, and basketball is about more than numbers (they say without reference to the final score).
Parker and Portis are both 23. They may be what they are over the long haul, especially on defense, but that's young enough that things could change. 30 games to check it out.
